It was indeed a graceful and memorable day as students of Igbariam, Priests, lecturers and individuals from various places stood at the entrance of the ETF Hall of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) to welcome his Eminent, Cardinal Francis Arinze.
The program of the day began with the holy mass which started at about 9.50 am with 12 priests present. In his homily the Eminent cardinal Arinze emphasized on the coming of Christ and the made ended at about 11:30 am which lead to the main business of the day which is the cardinals lecture.

Before the lecture of the cardinal, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Fidelis Okafor, was asked to come and give an opening remark and also welcome his Eminent. In the VC’s opening remark he said that it was indeed a blessing to the school as his Eminent Cardinal Arinze was the 3rd in rank after the Pope.

The cardinals lecture to the school was all wrapped up about success and how graduates should work for it. He said in his lecture that all graduates should try to possess the 4 virtues of cardinal,1. Prudence which guides judgment which leads to 2. Justice giving to God what belongs to God and human to human; that leads to 3. Fortitude being able to over come temptations and trials leading to 4. Temperance being able to realizes self control.
“No one should treat another human as inferior or ladder,” He said.
