Kogi West zonal chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has proposed a "Solidarity Rally” December 19 in Kabba to voice support for Governor Yahaya Bello's administration.


The rally, in a statement released on Monday by a member of the Organizing Committee, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, the kogi state commissioner of finance and Economic Development, has told journalists in Lokoja that the rally was intended to draw more grassroots support for Governor Bello and to show appreciation for his laudable achievements recorded in Kogi Western senatorial district.


"We have witnessed tremendous live-transforming programmes and policies which are impacting positively on the lives of every kogites, including job creation, infrastructure, and fight against insecurity, among others,"


“We want to reiterate that Kogi is an APC state and that we pledge our unalloyed and unflinching support and loyalty to the Governor ",


"Since the leadership of the party had already given their blessings to the proposed solidarity rally, you can always count us in," Asiwaju said.


The commissioner, said the stakeholders will demonstrate their solidarity for Governor Bello and express support for his administration. He said the good people of the kogi western senatorial district are itching to demonstrate their overwhelming support for the Governor.


The statement said that the proposed rally seeks to mobilize more grassroots support from all the seven (7) local governments of the Kogi west as well as from other critical stakeholders across the state.


“Stakeholders like Senator Smart Adeyemi, Aledare Jimoh Emmanuel State APC Youth Leader, Alh Abdullahi Moko Kotonkarfe, Haruna Isah Lokoja, Elijah Mosunle Kabba/Bunu, Taofiq Isah Ijumu LGA , Charles Abayomi Owoyele Mopamuro, Bashiru Jimoh Shuaibu Yagba East, Coker Gbolahan Yagba West, Rt (Hon) Ptince Kolawole Mathew, Speaker Kogi state House of Assembly, secretary to the Kogi state government, House of Assembly members, Commissioners, and all other government appointees from kogi western senatorial district, including youths and other interest groups will take part in a Street March among others as a mark of solidarity for Governor Bello,” He said.
