President Muhammadu Buhari has extended the tenures of all military service chiefs following a review of their performances.

According to a statement by Bashir Ahmad, a media aide to president Buhari, The service chiefs CDS, Gen Abayomi Olonisakin, the army chief, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai, the Air Chief, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, and the Naval Chief, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas, will all continue in office.

Defense Minister, Mansur Ali, also in a statement on Monday, said;

"Having carefully reviewed the ongoing military operations across the country, President Muhammadu Buhari has today approved the extension of the tenure of the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Air Staff and the Chief of Naval Staff."
