Lessons to draw from the issues between Innoson Ltd and a bank so far:

1. Banks must now begin to run revenue quality assurance in order to certify they are charging the right fees & interest within every point in time. This is very easy, yet most banks find it complex.

2. Banks are not good in court rooms. It is therefore not enough for any bank to rely on their legal counsels when issues with customers escalate. Banks should also consider the services of customer relationship and reputational management consultants to manage court judgements.

3. Thorough bank account reconciliations CANNOT detect excess bank charges. Never expect your Accountant to achieve that. It requires specialized softwares and relevant banking expertise to decipher the existence of illegal & excess bank charges.

4. Don't criminalize your bank or shout blue murder when you discover excess bank charges against you. Please note that most of these bloated charges are triggered by application errors and other systemic challenges.

5. Excess bank charges are not limited to loans and overdrafts. All fee attracting services are materially exposed to excess charges. And all customer income earning transactions are susceptible to revenue under-credit.

6. Banks also suffer revenue loss via customer undercharges primarily due to system glitches and staff inefficiencies. And in most times they are never detected.

7. All excess bank charges can be refunded. Your business will need bank charges audit if:
a. you have obtained any loan in the past or presently.
b. you are running a business current account
c. you handle forex transactions
d. you process investments from the account

8. Excess bank audit and recovery service is free. You are only charged from the amount recovered. No recovery=No pay.
