Now, in the last days, this curse will be reversed, according to the Bible. The people of Israel - the blacks - will be returned to that land, and take it over, in fulfilment of Yah's promise to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They will rule the earth as God's chosen people. He told me that the government of China made a concerted effort to improve its manufacturing base. They achieved it through heavy investment in engineering education. The citizens were encouraged to study engineering (not theory engineering like we do here) and government made sure studying engineering was free for everyone. This policy was pursued for over 30 years. The manufacturing capability and the technological advancement of China today is the product of the conscious decision of Chinese people more than 30 years ago.

My question is why can't one black nation decide to become expert in one thing, other than making babies? I can only do so much as an individual. But as a people we can achieve more and rise to greatness. But why haven't we?

Part of this issue we need to know how to solve problems with technology.

Egypt and Algeria are in desert regions. How come they are able to maintain their pitches in Stadiums? Of course they use synthetic pitches.

There are lots of places in the middle east and Asia that are not arable but with technology they have been able to water continuously their farms to produce food.

The problem is not mental inferiority but mental laziness.

Black people don't treasure Research & Development.

Black students are not ready to spend money to learn more but are ready to spend on unnecessary things.

I have seen professors who shy away from Research & Development simply because they don't want to stress their mind and spend their money/time.

Most importantly, our Universities are not Research & Development based but just classroom based because we place more emphasis on lecturers than Researchers.

We don't even have a cadre for Researchers as we do for Lecturers, Technologists and Technical staff.

Our universities are not attached to any private company for financial support in the area of R & D and Infrastructural development.

We have not even made it mandatory for each department/faculty to have a yearly R & D project work that involves all the Students in all levels.

It's not about West African soil. The sand/dirt in many Nigerian cities is combination of environment, neglect, irresponsible planning/construction, underdevelopment and poor maintenance.

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire is relatively neat and lush compared to Lagos. It's the standards of development that is upheld while constructing and building these cities that will affect neatness. If we had nice layouts with parks, grass, concrete, sidewalks with zero tolerance to dirt, where would the sand come from?
