You may have been hearing about the Russian security/intelligence agency cum spy agency that was called "KGB", which was like America's "CIA". However, many people do not know the meaning of that term "KGB".
Well, "KGB" is an acronym, and the full meaning is "Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti", which translated in English means:
"Committee for State Security".
So, now you know the meaning of "KGB". Lol.

NB: Note that KGB is now defunct...does not exist anymore. It was dissolved after the breakup of the then Soviet socialist union, USSR. After the dissolution of USSR, KGB was replaced in Russia, with the Federal Security Service and the Foreign Intelligence Service.
