I don't understand politicians.
I am still very new in the game of politics.

There is this aspect of politicians that I don't seem to understand.

I watched the APC Rally in Umuahia today...on TV and the major message they had was how the PDP destroyed the country in the 16 years that the party ran the country.

However, the most intriguing part of the story is that almost all the APC Chieftains calling the PDP names were former members and top office holders during the 16 years of the PDP.

Senator Osita Izunaso, the APC National Organizing Secretary who went on and on about the failures of the PDP was a Senator elected under the platform of the PDP.

Senator Nkechi Nwaogu who was nodding her head and dancing throughout served as a Senator for eight years under the PDP.

Former Governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime was Attorney General of Enugu State for eight years under a PDP administration and was later elected Governor for eight years under the PDP platform. So he was a key part of the PDP for the 16 years under review.

Orji Uzor Kalu was Governor of Abia State for eight years under the PDP platform.

Uche Ogar was a PDP Chieftain and former aspirant for the post of Governor.

Hon. Acho Obioma, the Chairman of the organizing committee went to the House of Reps as a member of the PDP. That was the only election he has ever won.

The list is endless.

I concede that a person can exercise his right to freedom of association but the part I don't get is why politicians, as soon as they jump into a new party, call their former party unprintable names and castigate them, even when they were part and parcel of the party at the time it held power.

These people rose to prominence through the PDP. They became whatever they are today because of the PDP.

Today, PDP is a cursed party, simply because it lost elections at the federal level.

Had the PDP won the 2015 elections, these people would have been singing the PDP song today.

This is very shameful indeed.

If you wish to move to a new party, why not do so quietly and not castigate the party through which you attained prominence?

I don't get it.
