You can try improving her nutrition by mixing the following : yellow corn, sorghum, millet
Grind those together and extract the pap yourself with clean tap water, then store properly.
When making your daughter's pap, you can add (after making it) cereals to it to improve on the nutritional benefits.
And most importantly, don't forget to give her water from time to time

Pardon my error, cos I don't know the right section to post this but I believe there are matured and experienced people to help me here.

My daughter is really underweight, in fact she looks like a three month old baby, there's no food or medicine or herbs I've not given her just for her to put on weight but nothing has worked so far.

Now she will be six months on Saturday and I don't know what food or cereals to introduce to her that will help her in gaining weight too.

Please lalasticlala mydd44 help to push this to front page cos I'm extremely desperate for help
Take her to the doctor to run some tests, including her genotype...

Okay, just use the pap ingredients that I gave, you'll definitely see improvement... Sorghum and millet are rich in nutrients and antioxidant, including yellow corn.

What is her birth weight?

What is her current weight?

Regardless, STOP giving her agbo and herbs.

She was weighting 3.5kg when she was born, now she weighting 6kg.

Although she's playing and eating like every other child but she's not just putting on weight

Every babies can't be fat abeg, leave the girl alone since the doctor said there is nothing wrong with her,my nephew weighed 2.4 kg at birth and not up to 6kg at 6 months,he's eight years old now and still very slim with tiny legs but very tall.

I can understand how you feel.. Just take it easy. My daughter weighs 7.3kg at 6m and am still trying to fatten her up. What I do is feed her often .She eats cereals, semi solids and also I feed her from my plate while eating. My daughter prefers to suck breast all day so it doesn't make it easy. But I try to feed her anything nutritious that she takes well.

Easy with herbs on the poor child, OP. Some babies are like that, they take their time before adding weight, hence just ensure she eats well and her foods consists of the necessary vitamins. You can also increase her egg, milk, fruits, vegetable intake and get multivitamin appropriate for her age. My son was like that though he had low birth weight and i was always worried until recently i noticed he was adding weight.
As long as you are convinced she is eating well and no hidden health defect, let her be. All the best.

Please stop looking for issue where there's none... And who prescribed the medication you were dishing out to the child ... U just want to kill her with your own hands if u keep on giving medicine with out prescription.. I know some people are naturally petite.. If u are extremely concern then take her to the hospital..

Shes truly underweight.

Take her to a paediatrician please. Paed, not just a family doctor / general practitioner.

And stop self medication, including local herbs.

I would have advised you take her to see pediatrician but you said you have taken her so see a doctor (so I will just assumed you saw a specialist). You claimed test has been ran on her and she was certified alright. if that is the case truly, then put your mind at peace. maybe she is on slim side. I heard corn mixed with soya beans and some other stuff makes kids fat and healthy. but before you start feeding your child with any formula , please confirm with a doctor.
Goodluck!

Mothers, the things that worry us.
