I just read an article about Kenyan Ministers of Parliament receiving salary cuts and I wondered whether their salaries could have been as high as Nigeria's Ministers. So, I did some quick googling and I'm presenting a side by side comparison of the 2 countries' salary structures for their elected officials.

Salaries for Kenyan officials have been converted from Kenyan Shillings to Nigerian Naira using current conversion rate of 3.52 Nigerian Naira to 1 Kenyan Shilling.

You can see Nigerian Ministers' salaries are well padded with allowances of all sorts, however Kenyan Ministers have massive loans granted for housing and vehicles, which increases the overall salary total. I would assume those loan amounts are the maximum available and repayment is required, but I will welcome insights from Kenyans as to whether my assumptions are correct and about any salary items that are missing.

It would also be cool if you comment with other comparisons between Nigerian and Kenyan politicians.
