What Nigerians or Africans see as blessing is different from it true definition or usage.
Looking at English dictionary,
DEFINITIONS OF THE WORD BLESSING
1. approval that allows or helps you to do something
2. help and approval from God

Another dictionary put it this way

3.something that helps you or brings HAPPINESS.

Another dictionary
2 : a thing conducive to HAPPINESS or WELFARE (not necessarily being wealthy).

But how do Africans define the word blessing?
To them blessing is wealth or escape from poverty, i understand why.
Because poverty has stricken Africa greatly such that they are cut off from reality.

No wonder bishop oyedepo will use the word jealousy to tame his critics (control your jeolousy).
Because he feels that what is worth jealous of is wealth and not happiness.

But the truth is, it is very possible that one can be very wealthy having fleets of private jets and investments but he is very far from being a happy man. I will not call that kinda situation a blessing.

Therefore, being wealthy is not the same thing as being blessed.
And when you are happy, weather you are wealthy or not you are a blessed man.

It is better to be jealous of a blessed man who is happy than to be jealous of a wealthy man.
