The amount invested doesn't matters, The output is what matters. In terms of megawatts. |

hoygift:I was actually looking for this kind of comment, poor thinking. Most of the people or state governments from southern part of Nigeria would equally demand for money, claiming that it is a land needed for private business. 1 Like |

Zoehill: Because it has been proven time and again that public or governmental businesses cannot work especially in a corrupt Nigeria. The reason why a privatisation and commercialisation policy was birthed many years ago. |

Re: Dangote Receives Land For $150 Million Solar Power Project In Kano by nextstep(m): 12:26pm On Jan 30, 2018 |
Zoehill: For the same reason they can't put gas power plants in the north... certain projects are better suited for certain climatic zones. Because of the constant cloud cover and smog, solar is not very efficient in the south. It works, but will work much more efficiently in dry places with direct sunshine. Sunshine, not heat, is what makes solar work, though this investment, no matter where - is very welcome. As the poster above said, this would happen if business individuals from each zone approached their own states for land and put their own money into it. That said, I wish the governments would coordinate their efforts better: There's a Solar panel development institute (a part of NASENI) in Karchi, Abuja, that has been making panels for some years now... this would have been a golden opportunity to massively boost its production output and also push forward our manufacturing capabilities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILB4SIUZBwo 1 Like |

Yoshy: it is a fact bad igbos and ipob jews don't accomodate foreigners be it Hausa Fulani, Yoruba or any other tribe, that's y u hardly find a northerner building house or landed properties in the East, for example.... A very well known business Man hear in the north built a filling Station in Abia state, when the indigenes discovered it was for a Hausa Man, they stopped him from commissioning it... to cut the story short, he had to sell it to one of there business men there in Abia State...these is not so in the North, igbos in the North know northerners are very very accommodating to them 1 Like 1 Share |

Zoehill: solar farms aren't just set up in a location just for political gains or regional autonomy. it is like a dam too.. the energy to drive the photo voltaic cell is the sun and kano happens to have higher sun intensity penetration..so the reason why he choose kano..Maiduguri can also be a solar hub for electricity generation... |
