Nigeria playwright, poet and essayist, Prof. Akinwande Oluwole Babatunde Soyinka, popularly known as Wole Soyinka has voiced out on the attack of  secretariat in Akure south Local Government area of Ondo State and the burning of farm land in Osun State. He made his opinion known  yesterday in Lagos State at a conference he participated in. The press conference is titled, ' Nomads and Nation: Valentine Valedictory rites.' 



Prof. Wole Soyinka said, " I will say Mr. President you are in a trance."  Trance is a half-conscious state, seemingly between sleeping and waking, in which ability to function voluntarily may be suspended. He said this while answering one of the questions he was asked.  The question was about  what he will tell Nigeria president when he sees him because he believed that the president in not doing anything about the attacks of the headsmen in Ondo, Osun and other part of the country.  He said, " I don't known. so many unforced errors: take for instance, the suspended Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme, Usman Yusuf, that was reinstated by the president. " What is that about? What is going on?


" I am urging voluntary organisations to ask themselves when and how armed herdsmen would be disarmed. They need to ensure that anytime they see armed headsmen, they report to the nearest police station. But if at some point, the police have not taken action and the armed herdsmen are not disarmed, these voluntary organisations should move into the place and disarm them."
