Kwara Must Change and the entire people of Kwara State were awakened once again on Monday 19th February 2018 to the most shocking report of how over N15 Billion and $13 million belonging to the Kwara State people was looted by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki through 88 lodgement of N80 million by aides and other yet to be identified persons into the personal bank account of the former Kwara State Governor.

In the report by Sahara reporter, it was stated that Nigeria's anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has told a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State, how aides and other yet to be identified persons lodged cash and other monetary instruments totaling N15 billion and $13 million into the personal account of Senate President Bukola Saraki when he was governor of Kwara State. The agency said the peak of the suspicious lodgments was on October 26, 2009, when 88 different persons lodged the sum of N80 million into the account of the Senate President.

Kwara Must Change is not in anyway surprised about this development because we know the extent of looting that took place during the administration of Senator Bukola Saraki while serving as Kwara State governor and the kind of looting still taking place now under Governor Abdulfatai Ahmed.

This is why we have alerted the nation long ago that irrespective of how mind blowing a looting exposition about Bukola Saraki is, what you have been seen or heard is still nothing compared to what is yet to be exposed and the damage done to Kwara State is far and beyond public imagination.

Kwara Must Change state with all sense of conviction that more revelations will emerge about the looting of Kwara patrimony and we urge all kwarans not only to express dissatisfaction with the culprits, but act to prevent future re-occurrence of such, by punishing all those involve in this criminality.

We urge the anti graft agency to kindly proceed with its investigation to uncover more facts about the matter. As a matter of necessity, we urge EFCC to begin a fresh prosecution of Senator Bukola Saraki over this new revelation and ensure justice.

We commend EFCC’s effort in trying to help Kwara State retrieve its stolen wealth and assure them of the support of all good people of Kwara.

As we approach the 2019 election, we remind the people that this is another opportunity to get it right. Looters and those who deprive people of their means of livelihood should not be allowed to continue to be in charge.
