They are children of Satan. Hellfire will be their portion.

Christianity is one of religion that gives the choice to serve God with easy. You are not compelled to do anything with you taking decision. You can opt in and out anytime anyday without stress.

Ask your fore fathers who practiced human rituals and killed many to appease demons and were stopped by Christianity.

Ask your fore fathers who practiced OSU caste system which has been largely pushed back by Christianity

Ask your fore fathers who were cured of common and treatable sicknesses which erstwhile killed many in their communities by medical missionaries.

Ask your fore fathers who sacrifice twins because their gods and demons wanted it so, which Christian missions eventually stopped.

Ask your fore fathers who lived in forests bare naked and were clothed after being found by mission groups.

Ask your fore fathers who were the ones who risked everything including dear life to give education a people lost and groping in darkness.

Ask your forefathers who helped them dig up clean water to drink instead of the erosion laced water they erstwhile drank.

Ask your fore fathers who taught them to stick with one wife during an era when men acquired women as properties and assets

Ask your fore fathers who gave women hope by insisting on the principles of monogamy which has now ushered an era of equality where women see themselves as co-equal with men simply because the missionaries also empowered them by giving them free education.

Ask your forefathers these many questions you bloody ingrates, hpocritic generation of vipers!

Ask homosexuals who are disowned from their family who civilised Christianity is?

Ask little children who have been labeled witches and abused how civilised Christianity is?

Ask oppressed women who are told they are subordinate to their husband how civilised Christianity is?

Ask the families of Christians who died because they opted for prayer instead of treatment how civilised Christianity is?

Ask our forefathers who massacred by be Christian colonialists how civilised Christianity is?

Ask the Christian nations who who funded Gowon's genocide of the Igbos in Biafra how civilised Christianity is?

I can do this all day.

Don't be foolish, all the points I have raised are activities emanating from the part and parcel of christian dogma. What has Christianity got to do with a political biafran war which never had a religious undertone. Shall we say America(a mostly christian nation) was trying to kill Igbos(a mostly christian tribe) for being Christian.

Christianity arrived our shores through missionaries who left all in their countries to come evangelise here. I don't know which missionaries massacred anyone in Nigerian history. But I'm not surprised that you would cook up that story as most Atheist are pathetic liars.

Christianity amongst many religions of the Earth encouraged Monogamy from the onset in belief that men and women are equal. Does your daft mind not see that the majority of Countries with proper women's rights are countries which largely embraced/embrace Christianity. Why is there a sharp contrast between women rights in Europe, NAmerica and South America(all christian dominated till this day) and Saudi, Pakistan, Indonesia (all Muslim state till this day).

"Ask little children who have been labeled witches and abused how civilised Christianity is?" Sincerly speaking what type of cheap drugs are you on? Are you telling me children weren't labelled witches before Christianity came into Nigeria. In the case of traditional laced Christianity where maybe children are labelled witches then we would be talking about Nigerian partly held indigenous religions polluting the christian one.

Again you seem to try to be deliberately deceptive. Was homosexuality accepted in Nigerian cultures or religions before the entry of Christianity? In today's society if you are found to be homosexual there are advocates who would cite the bible verse "let he who is without sin cast the first stone". But if you were found as Homosexual prior to the era of Christianity you probably would have your head sacrificed to a banana tree by locals.
Re: Has Christianity Been Bad For Nigeria by DejiSantos: 5:22pm On Feb 22, 2018
1.The nations that funded the Biafran genocide were Christian nations. eg Britain
2. Who said I'm atheist? Rejecting Christianity does not make you an atheist.
3. Monogamy does not equate to equality. That is a foolish false equivalence.
4. The witch hunt of children is a Christian import. It happened in the Americas before they embraced secularism eg. Salem, Massachusetts
5. There is no record of people being murdered or imprisoned for being homosexual before the advent of Christianity and Islam.

You're just talking Christian mumbo jumbo.

You can admit the flaws in your faith without trying to rewrite history.

It makes you seem stupid.

Lol this guy you are very illogical
1) point one is just like saying that since a Christian was caught raping someone then Christianity endorses rape. People can do things based on many factors that are different from the religion they bear. Whether the countries who sponsored Biafran war were Christian or not is completely irrelevant as long as the war was not inspired by the bible or the Church...

3) Monogamy is the most major step towards equality. Christianity made it clear that women were not properties to be acquired and discarded as most major cultures did including the majority of African Cultures and religion. By mandating christian men to marry one wive each Christianity was ushering in an era of freedom for women where they can enter monogamist relationships without fear of competing for love or attention for their kids...

4) Foolish talk once again, Children have also been accused of Witchcraft here in Africa even before the White Men accepted Christianity. Terms like "Ogbanje", " Emere" are totally indigenous African concepts to refer to children that are possessed of witchcraft. And thanks to Christianity the practice of these indigenous religions have waned.

5) Maybe because no one born of a woman would have dared affiliate themselves with homosexuality. Up till the early 2000s most Africans never knew anything about modern day homosexual practice not to even talk of persecuting them. My first knowledge of Homosexual marriages was in 2006 when I read a JW awake publication and I could remember being astonished that gay ppl truly existed. But make no doubt about it, African religions prior to Christianity would have crucified anyone who came out to claim homosexuality.

The forerunner to Christianity, Judaism also practiced anilal and human rituals. At there are two examples of attempted human sacrifices in your bible.

Ask your fore fathers who practiced OSU caste system which has been largely pushed back by Christianity

The forefathers of your colonial and spiritual masters also practiced a system worse than OSU caste system, they practiced slavery in which they dehumanised their captured or bought slaves. When they wage war on neighbouring communities, they kill all the men and old ladies and rape young girls.

Ask your fore fathers who were cured of common and treatable sicknesses which erstwhile killed many in their communities by medical missionaries.

Are you telling us that no one was living in black African communities before the coming of the missionaries? Are you also telling us that common treatable diseases did not kill your colonial and spiritual masters before the acceptance of the germ theory and the discovery of penicillin?

Ask your fore fathers who sacrifice twins because their gods and demons wanted it so, which Christian missions eventually stopped.

The fore fathers of your colonial and spiritual masters also offer to sacrifice their children to their God.

Ask your fore fathers who lived in forests bare naked and were clothed after being found by mission groups.

The forefathers of your colonial and spiritual masters lived in the open desert and roam around like Fulani herdsmen, killing other people to steal their lands.

Ask your forefathers who helped them dig up clean water to drink instead of the erosion laced water they erstwhile drank.

The forefathers of your white God also drank water from steams, lakes, Rivers and Wells.

False! The forefathers of your white masters did not preach or practice monogamy. Almost all the lots of prophets of their holy book had 2 wives, Solomon had hundreds.
Women were and are still not equal with men, read your bible to understand the role and function of women in Judaism and Christianity.

Ask your forefathers these many questions you bloody ingrates, hpocritic generation of vipers!

If you have hatred for your forefathers, your culture and your self, that is your own sicknesses. Lots of us are proud of our heritage.

More ridiculous arguments from angry unbelievers cheesy I'm actually enjoying this. Let me dedicate today to respond to you guys usual folly.

At least now we've moved away from disputing the positive relevance of Christianity to the intricate values of Christianedom.

1) Christianity and Judaism are two separate religions entirely. Christianity has never endorsed animal sacrifices and anyone who practices animal sacrifices is not even a Christian.
Jesus was the only human sacrifice ever recorded in the Bible. But hey in the real physical sense of it he was actually nailed and killed by the Romans.

2) The forefathers of the Colonialist also needed Jesus. What you've just accused them of doing is prove that no race is ever inherently good. Prior to the invasion of Europe with Christianity, Europe was also filled with horrendous practices: sorcery, clairvoyance, oppression of minorities etc but we thank God they were liberated early enough.

I'll respond to your remaining ridiculous points when I have time. I don't tire sef, but u ppl are seriously too weak arguments.

Such a tricky question

It's not actually.

While religion has helped us through the building of schools, hospitals and the likes. It is not without its downsides.

Firstly, the distinction between the state and religion is extremely blur in Nigeria which is a recipe for underdevelopment, poverty, lack of creative ideas. Imagine when you ask for a solution for a societal problem facing us in 2018 and people start opening up the bible to the book of Jeremiah. Unfortunately, we can not find practical solutions to improve our quality of life in 2018 from a book written 2000 years ago.

Secondly, religion promising us that our reward is in heaven subconsciously affects us from striving to make a better planet for ourselves and our offsprings. How many Nigerians give a damn about recycling or their environment? We dont because religion teaches us that the earth is not the only place we've got. Since we are going to heaven, why bother making earth a better place. Why invest in medical research since God is the ultimate healer?

So religion as we practice it in Nigeria makes us passive human beings.

Panel discuss the effect Christianity has had on Igbo culture.
Interesting that the panel did not equally attempt to debate the usefulness and effectiveness of many of Igbo cultural traditions as well particularly those that concern the place of women and children in the society. Many of those have equally caused tremendous damage even as other religions have. lipsrsealed
