Listening to sinners because it seems what their saying is true, which is actually true but those things wont develop your spiritual life but instead awaken you to societal challenges. So tell me how does that help you grow spiritually?

As for the music aspect, although i listen to alot of gospel but i also listen to secular from time to time. I told the guy that what about Tasha Cobbs a gospel singer who featured Nicki Minaj in "I'm getting ready" or Jeremiah Gyang featuring M.I. in "Kaunar Na Allah". The songs are great and are still gospel.
The guy argued that they have backslided. They should never associate themselves with secular musicians. We argued for like an hour until we get tired. So i will like see your own point of view. Is listening to secular music/movie bad for a Christian?

Yesterday i got into a heated debate with an acquaintance. He was of the opinion that listening to secular music and movies is bad for a christian. I on the other hand was countering him. Although i know that there are music or movies especially that one should avoid but i opine that it is not enough to ride all secular music and movies off.

I have learn alot especially from secular movies both as a form of entertainment and educationally and just because some movies are bad doesn’t mean i should stop watching movies.

What is wrong in listening to country music which is a "secular" song? What is wrong in listening to some gud old Bob Marley, Lucky Dube or even Celine Dion or Khalid? What is wrong in watching Suits or Game of Thrones? Shld we close our ears wen we hear these songs over the radio or like deeper life of old we shldnt even own television sets ryt? Some wordly activities like betting, business, secular movies, music etc are not sin . But when you do them in excess and you get addicted and it taking your time. Especially when it is taking over your brain and heart and the time to be with God ,then it is your idol.

Tell during the time of JESUS CHRIST, which movie, playlet, song or dance did you heard or read he featured, supported, commended or associated with, HE came to preach, live exemplary Life, perform miracles before HE went back to heaven. You are right and your friend is wrong. God gave us commandments for us to obey. Everything else, He left to each person to decide for himself/herself. Yes, followers of Jesus Christ are free to party all night without it impacting their relationship with God. Yes, God allows us to enjoy all that He has created for us, without limitation. All He asks is that we obey what He has commanded.

In the Old Covenant, He commanded the people not to make any more rules than the one He has given them and not to remove from the rules He has made.

In the New Covenant, Jesus Christ warned us against subscribing to doctrines and rules of men, so that we do not nullify the power of God in our lives by these acts.

Jesus Christ did not say we should not listen to Secular music and He did not limit us in what we can watch as far as movies, so it is up to each individual to decide for themselves based on own preferences. We are made free in Jesus Christ, not shackled as those in the Old Covenant are - God gave commandments on how they should dress, eat, sleep, when they can work, how etc. But in Jesus Christ, we are made free and should not look instead for ways to add chains to our lives, for by doing that, we instead jeopardize the freedom that Jesus Christ died to give us.

We are not to make rules and impose those rules on others pretending we do so in the name of God for God has given no man power to add or remove from that which He and He alone has commanded. Do not let yourself be deceived by religion and do not let religious people fool you with their lies into buying into their rules and traditions, which only serve to push you away from God, not bring you closer to Him.

Let the word of God continuously dwell in your heart while you're in Earth . It is best you don't corrupt your Heart and brain with worldly activities. You are alive to please God , you are not the owner of your body and soul .They belong to the Maker which is our heavenly Father.

What do you mean by profane, unholy, ungodly, and polluted things? You mean any movie that is non-christian is bad. So watching a medical movie such as "gifted hands" is profane, unholy, ungodly, and polluted things. Please stop generalizing. If its pornographic movie i don't encourage that.
