THE Deputy Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Friday Ossai Osanebi, has described the Governor of the Year Award bestowed on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa by Independent Newspapers as a reward for hard work, dexterity and prudence.

The Deputy Speaker, in a congratulatory message, said the award has once again showed that the developmental strides of Governor Okowa are being appreciated by the people of the State and Nigerians at large.

He described the Award as ‘a reward for excellence. According to him: “Your Excellency, through diligence and prudent management of resources, you have practically demonstrated that you are a leader with strange abilities “.

Osanebi noted that Governor Okowa, who was awarded for uncommon wealth creation and infrastructure in Delta State, has demonstrated rear virtues of frugality and industry in the discharge of his duty as Governor.

The Deputy Speaker reaffirmed that Governor Okowa deserved the award because of the milestones recorded in just two years of his administration, also added that the Governor has exceeded expectations, a situation, he said continues to baffle even his critics.

He enthused that the years ahead for Deltans will be seasons of consolidation on Governor Okowa’s infrastructural drive, coupled with job and wealth creation.

Osanebi expressed the hope that the award would spur the Governor to do more for the people of the State, and called for support from all segments of the populace to enable Governor Okowa deliver on all his promises to the people.

So Okowa thinks buying an award would savage his already dented image as a clueless governor?
