Seen the movie... it's basically what Africa as a continent could have been if history were to be re-written. Perhaps, we could have colonized the world the way we were colonized. The down-side was: 1.) The title and it's depiction: The Black Panther was a revolutionary socialist organization predominantly formed by black people and mainly for black people in the U.S, U.K and Northern Africa. It's depicted with black people's aggression and brutality. 2.) Panther's representation/symbol relative to geographical habitat: The Panther/Puma/Cougar/Jaguar is ONLY indigenous to the Americas and shouldn't have been used to depict a continent where stronger animals like Lion, Leopard exists. 3.) Allotting of undue black-privilege and reverence, which I see as 'reverse-racism'. I think this is what black movie producers like 'Tyler Perry' and co.. should be producing to promote the black race in a positive light NOT the dumb-ass 'Jim Crow' / 'Aunty Jemima' type of movies (comedy/funny stereo-typed characters by black pple for white entertainment) being produced. Above all, it's a great movie. You guys should try and watch when it's available in 9ja. 1 Like |

Watched the movie today and I was speechless. The movie almost moved me to tears. I was so proud of everybody and how well the movie was made. The African culture was presented as something to be proud of. It showed class. It was indeed everything and more. 3 Likes 1 Share |
