Kano State Accountant General, Hajiya Aisha Bello, on Thursday in Kano tendered her letter of resignation to Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

However, sources said the governor refused to accept the letter.

In the letter dated February 20, 2018, Bello expressed appreciation to the governor for offering her the opportunity to serve the state in two different capacities — as Commissioner for Planning and Budget and subsequently as the State Accountant General.

The letter, which was received by the office of Secretary to the State Government on Thursday, February 22, 2018, did not specify any reasons for her resignation.

However, sources said her resignation might not be unconnected to alleged controversy of interference in the performance of her duties by some prominent personalities in the administration.

However, it was learnt that the accountant-general had also tendered a letter of resignation to the governor last year, citing insubordination by the treasurer, as well as her inability to discharge her responsibilities “without intense from here and there.”

According to sources, the governor was said to have rejected her resignation letter.

Wow. Please give her the right conditions to work. If you can't, let her go. This is what I expected the minister of health to do.

Then allow her to work, this is part of the problem of this country, same thing they are doing to Ibe kachikwu, you appoint someone and then let your friends and family control the person's action and performance

The northern cabals are evil and will never allow you discharge your duties efficiently, that's why the country is in a mess now.

DID SHE EVEN REMEMBER THAT SHE IS IN NIGERIA WHERE NO MATTER THE SITUATION, YOU WILL NOT RESIGN BECAUSE country hard ??

I like both parties. They seem to have gumption.

But Governor needs to stand behind her in order for her to continue. A pay increase might be in order too.

Baba God, na this type of job and/or contract I wish for. They one wey I go say I no even do anymore and dem go come dey beg me.

The reason(s) for her resignation is understandable as obtained from the public domain. Therefore, the governor should accept her resignation in good faith and forge ahead, unless there other reason(s) behind the scene not disclosed.
