- to shut down six states.

The leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South - west zone has threatened to shut down the six states within it jurisdiction due to the incessant hike in fuel price and the hardship it brings on her members across the South - west geopolitical zone.

In a statement jointly signed by the coordinator, Comrade Lookman Adekitan and the Assistant General Secretary, Comrade Idris Odufuwa made available to kakaakinews.com.ng, the executive members said that the students are fast loosing their patience and in no distant time massive protests will hold in the six states of the south - west geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The states mentioned includes Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo and Ekiti states.

The leadership of the students in the zone however passed a vote of no confidence of the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), NNPC and the federal ministry of petroleum.

The statement reads:

"Since, the official price of PMS (petrol) by the Nigeria government is N145, and if there should be any increment to that, the federal government should pronounce the official price to the nation.

"Failure to comply with the request by every filling station in southwest, the leaders of NANS will not hesitate to start a protest tagged, operation sell at official price in nigeria filling stations"

While calling on the Nigerian government to do the needful within the next seventy-two hours, the NANS leadership in the south - west zone (zone d) mandates all Nigerian students to get ready for a mother of all protests which will reestablish the stand of the Nigerian students as to fighting oppression and the unjustifiable hardship inflicted on the Nigerian masses.
