THE Delta State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Barr. Kingsley Esiso has described the Daily Independent Man of the Year award bestowed on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a hallmark of development of the governor.
Barr. Esiso, who said this while speaking with journalists in Asaba, said that Governor Okowa’s performance, in spite of the poor economic situation of the country before now is a testimony of development that makes Deltans to believe in the governor’s developmental strides, hence the award is not a surprise to him.

The state PDP chairman, said, “It will only take a man that is hungry for development to be Governor of Delta,” adding that “Delta State is not a one-sided state because of the multiplicity of the various ethnic groups and that it is not a place that, when you build a dam, 50 communities can benefit from it. In Delta the governor is identifying with the people’s felt needs and concentrating on them,” he said. Also describing the governor’s awards as timely and a square peg in a square hole, a House of Assembly hopeful to represent Sapele state constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Barry Perkins Umukoro, said that “The Daily Independent award to the governor is a landmark judgment of strategic legacy projects in Delta.

Umukoro said that the award is another wake up call to support the Okowa project come 2019. He said that Sapele and every parts of Delta State have handwriting of development of the governor.
