I really do hope the APC is able to sort out its challenges beginning this week and before the next general elections so that it can remain strong and cohesive post 2019. The lessons from the pre 2015 election PDP debacle must be learnt and avoided at all costs because the nation has suffered greatly from the lack of organised political opposition like mature democracies depend on. After three years in the political wilderness it is clear the PDP is still not ready to be the counter weight to give this nation the much needed stability. The APC should begin to plan post Buhari. It should begin to institutionalise itself and disolve contending and divergent power structures within and most importantly begin to prepare for life in opposition which may come at any electoral milestone in the future. Because a political party can only be described to have been established if it can go the full cycle of power to opposition and back to power without losing itself, its soul.

The fear is real that once Baba Buhari is gone the party may as well return to its component parts. Asiwaju Tinubu and Mr President must ensure this does not happen as the greatest legacy they will leave is not the ultimate goal of ruling this cou try but of creating a vehicle for its long term viability. Let the APC show the PDP and other parties how political institutions work and how they can be made to work for the greater good. Wish them the best. Their success is Nigeria's success just as other parties.

OGA we are done with change. I would rather take the Ghana story where they voted the then ruling party out and brought in an opposition party that cause so much hardship for Ghanaians but during the last election Ghanaians decided to give the then ruling party another chance and now things are better off in Ghana.
