- A law prohibiting illicit dealing in human parts has been enacted by Kwara state House of Assembly - The law stipulates not less than 10 years imprisonment for anyone that trades in buying and selling of any human parts - Under the law, it is also an offence for anyone to to sell or use things removed from human corpse In its resolve to rid the state of crime, Kwara state House of Assembly has enacted a law prohibiting illicit dealing in human parts in the state The lawmaker representing Owode/Onire constituency, Abdul Rasheed Taiwo Abdullahi, sponsored the bill, The Nation reports. NAIJ.com gathered that under the law, whoever buys, sells or has in his possession for the purpose of buying or selling or trafficking any human parts commits an offence and liable to not less than 10 years imprisonment. Under the law, it is also an offence for anybody to look for, give, receive, sell or things removed from human corpse, or things used to bathe or clean human corpse. The speaker of the House, Dr Ali Ahmad, expressed his satisfaction with the passage of the bill, noting that it reflected the wishes of the people of Kwara state.
