UTME 2018: JAMB Speaks On Loss Of Items by AnthonyDgreat: 5:05pm On Mar 08, 2018
The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board, JAMB, has declared that it would not be held liable for any loss of items by
candidates coming for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, due to begin tomorrow, March 9, 2018.

The JAMB’s spokesman, Dr. Fabian
Benjamin, stated this in an exclusive chat with DAILY SCHOOL GIST on Thursday, advising candidates to check the internet for list of items they are not supposed to come with to the examination centres.

According to him, “You are not supposed to come with anything to the exam centre.
So loss of items does not concern JAMB.

“How can a candidate carry his or her load from the house to exam centres and if same goes missing, he come complaining to JAMB, how should we be expected to
sort that?

“In the press conference we did yesterday, we outlined the list of banned items. You are not supposed to come there with
anything,” Benjamin said.

DAILY SCHOOL GIST had earlier reported that the following items would not be allowed into the examination centres: Wrist watches, Pen/biro, Mobile phones or similar electronic devices, Spy reading glasses which should be scrutinized, Calculators or similar electronic devices, USB,CD, Hard
disks and/or similar storage devices, Books or any reading/writing material, Cameras, Recorders, Microphones, Ear pieces, Ink/pen readers,Smart lenses, Smart rings/jewellery, Smart buttons and Bluetooth devices should be avoided.
