I'm an atheist but when i was still a theist i found it crazy and nonsesical for some religiotards to use tragedies like accidents as proof of their god's existence.

An accident would kill 23 people and the lone survivor would use it as testimony.
They will even hold thanksgiving and praise their all powerful god.

because the it is written in the Holy Bible 'I will show mercy to whom i will show mercy says the Lord'. God gives life and God takes. Though is not His will for people to die young..yet He allows some principles like a car accident due to reckless driving. Even in some unpleasent situation, He can choose to spare a life for His namesake. God created all humans yet He has His favourites. The choice of being one of His favourites is ours to make. My dear in summary, when u get involved in God's business, He gets involved in ur affairs. Breaking principles just to suit His own.

I used to be a firefighter.
One day fire engulfed a 5 storey building at Onitsha.
My office was contacted and me and my crew went to quench the flames.

It turns out there were 24 people trapped in the building.

As the leader of my crew, I gave them instructions. I decided that only 1 person must be saved.

The remaining 23 should be left to die.

So we saved only 1 person and watched as fire destroyed 23 lives.

Dont judge me.

I decided i will show mercy to just one person.

The 23 persons can die.

If a human being did this, you would call him a wicked psychopath.

But if God did it, you would tag it 'MERCY' and give testimony in church.

Religious people, people who serve God. Just last week, the chairman of CAN in one of the northern states died in a road accident. A church building collapsed in Akwa Ibom and killed hundreds. We are mortals, there are things we will never understand. Calamities abound. I lost my wife to a ghastly accident. The following Sunday, people were giving testimonies of God delivering from one accident or the other. You can imagine how I felt

The problem with you christians is DOUBLE STANDARD.

If a human being was discriminatory just like god, you will criticise him.

But God can discriminate.
God has favourites.
Even though we are his children, we are not equal in his eyes.

He can save you and he can abandon you to die.

Christians give God a free pass in everything they would criticise humans for.

Imagine if a mother has 4 children.

These 4 children were involved in an accident.

The mother has the money and resources to save her 4 children.

But she saved her favourite child and abandoned the other 3 to die.

I don't know you BUT, this is exactly what I keep telling my fellow 9ja.

I also believe in God but, nevertheless, I never let that cloud my common-sense judgments. 9ja pple are too quick to put everything on God thereby failing to take responsibilities for their own actions.

Even you see the Christians making very conditional, subjective and annoying prayer points based on other victims' demise. Why can't they just thank or praise God cuz they want to NOT, due to another other pple's demise?

Lemme tell u something dear..even in ur family...ur parents have their favourites among the kids...that doesn't mean they don't love u all, it only shows that some of u have choosen to be exceptional in the family thus winning the hearts of ur parent.

So it is with God. God is our parent. He loved us so much that He sent the only begotten of Him to die for our sins. Yet, He left us with choice either to accept His free gift or not. Those that accept Him, obey Him, Love Him and serve Him are His favourites because He will definetly pay attention to the while He ernestly wait for others to return to Him. God's love is unconditional yet there are some persons that God hold dearly to Him. These are people that are completely sold out to Him
