At least five persons have been killed and 13 others wounded including a University Professor when multiple bombers attack Maiduguri last night, residents and Civilian JTF said.


The suspected Boko haram suicide bombers stormed Muna Zauyar in Jere local government area of the state capital at 8:45pm, killing a woman, four goats and a dog as well as injuring many other.

"A woman lost her life and 13 others injured including Prof. Khursa Imma of the sharia law of University of Maiduguri who was injured along with two of his children currently being treated at the UMTH accident and emergency centre" a CJTF source informed Daily Trust.

The Police spokesman in Borno, DSP Edet Okon, confirmed the attack in a message sent to reporters this morning.

“Good morning Gentlemen of the press. At about 2149hrs yesterday, 30/3/18 four (4) female suicide bombers infiltrated Muna Zawuya village in Mafa LGA outskirt of Maiduguri. They detonated the explosives killing themselves and one other person( female).

Thirteen (13) persons were injured and were taken to a hospital where they are responding to treatment. The Borno state police command had dispatch men to the scene including men of the CTU, SARS and EOD to sweep the place and make the environment safe.

Normalcy has returned to the area. Meanwhile, adequate security arrangements has being emplaced for a hitch free Easter celebration. Patrol and Monitoring continues pls,” he said.

The Americans defeated the Taliban and Saddam's Iraqi forces by 2003. Here in Nigeria, we have beaten the Bokoists...they can no longer mount attacks as far as Kano and Kaduna,most of their cells have been rooted out, they have been losing territories since 2014, and they have a lot of their boys in jail.

The way terror groups operate is to frighten and sow confusion. Now, Boko knows they cannot capture Maiduguri (and every time they have tried they have been driven back with heavy losses.) They can, however, direct their cells in Maiduguri to mount an attack, kill lots of people, flee immediately. This has the aim of scaring people,and making the govt look ineffective useless. That is how they made the previous admin look poorly effective, and that is how they will do the same to this govt.(Kidnapping the Chibok and Dapichi girls falls into the same modus operandi...scare as many people as possible and sow confusion...even make the govt look foolish, incompetent, and also get funds via negotiation. That is why I don't believe that Chibok or Dapichi were scams....they were well thought out physical and psychological attacks designed to scare and confuse people. Boko are not a bunch of illiterates....they are a group of intelligent and evil thugs. Just like many of their precursors worldwide...secular and religious)

Same thing in the Iraq and Afghanistan. ISIS and the Taliban are not in charge. But they can just split up into small independent groups which hide in the population, mount an attack, and then withdraw. That is how terror groups have operated from time immemorial. We have to employ technology, training, and common sense. The people affected need to feel included. We need to start training alot of dogs that can smell the properties of their devices. The schools need to be policed. Many more strategies including treating affected people with care so that they can feel secured and give better intelligence. All these bh things, don't need to be by force alone, indiscriminate force at that. We need to handle camps with discipline and respect, any mess up from any professional working there need to be fired. No time.

Please can someone tell me why some people derive joy and happiness in killing others and causing sorrow to many?
