I agree with most of what you said except the part where you bought into Nigerian doctored history that ironsi broke up the regions.

Even the British government that hated Biafrans admitted that it was Gowon that broke up the regions.

Ironsi nationalized the regional civil service and placed it under the military command after nzeogwu failed coup. This was done to restore order.
