The 2018 Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA, Osun State Chapter) held on Wednesday 4th April, 2018 at the Redeemed College of Missions, Ede, Osun State. Librarians and other information managers across the state were present at the meeting.

In his inspirational welcome address, the Chief Host and Provost of the Redeemed College of Missions, Ede, Pastor Dr. Joel Oke Eyinade charged the librarians not to be discouraged in discharging their duties, and also to fear God in all their dealings. Also, in her opening remarks, The NLA Chairperson of the State, Dr. Mrs. Modupe Aboyade also appreciated all the members and other executives for their support towards moving the Association forward.

Highlights of the event included an OGM lecture titled: Appropriate Staffing in Nigeria Academic
Libraries: The Personality Traits to Avoid and Adopt by Dr. Wahab A. Aboyade, and also commendation of members who have contributed immensely to the sustenance and the development of the Association at the State level.

Also, the Association's Welfare Committee was also inaugurated. The Committee consist of one member each from all participating institutions across the state. Meanwhile, the AGM of the Osun State Chapter of the Association will come up in December.

The Nigerian Library Association (NLA), established in 1962 is an umbrella body for all Librarians and Library Officers across the Country with the National headquarters in Abuja. Objectives of the Association include:

To unite persons interested in Libraries, Librarianship and Information services;
To safeguard and promote the professional interests of librarians;
To promote the establishment and development of libraries and information centers.
