Plenary started with prayers from the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Matthew O. Kolawole.

Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Hassan Abdullahi of Dekina-Okura State Constituency moved for the adoption of votes and proceedings of the last sitting and seconded by the Chief Whip, Hon. Victor A. Omofaiye of Ijumu State Constituency.

Letter from the Governor: Expiration of tenure of Local Government transition committee and request for a six months extension.

Majority Leader, Hon. Hassan Abdullahi of Ajaokuta State Constituency debated that all members prefer Council Elections but the reality of funds paucity is before everybody and as such vacancy at the Local Government cannot be entertained as it brings government lower to the people.

Matter of Urgent Public Importance: A call to Immortalise Rt. Hon. (ARC.) Umar Buba Jibril by naming the Administrative Block after him.

Sponsor: Rt. Hon. Umar Imam Ahmed of Lokoja I State Constituency.

PRAYERS:

�� A minute of silence in honour of the departed soul
�� A letter of condolence to his family.
�� That the administrative block be named after him.
�� That an appeal be conveyed to State Government to immortalise him posthumously.

Hon. Zakari Osewu Mohammed of Kogi-Koton'Karfe while seconding motion described Late Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril as a mentor and he who sees politics as service to the people.

Hon. Haruna Idoko Musa of Idah State Constituency rose to support the motion, he described Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril as a popular politician and a man for the people. He noted that his death is a great loss to Nigeria and the North Central.

Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Hassan Abdullahi of Dekina-Okura State Constituency supported the motion, noted that there is need for everyman to remember that death is inevitable. Making reference to his antecedents, he added he has enjoyed the support of his people due to his good deeds. He also sent his condolence to his family, Lokoja/Kogi-Koton'Karfe State Constituents, Kogi State and Nigeria.

The Speaker while ruling on the motion expressed sadness over the bad news, he noted what happened to Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril can happen to anyone and there's need for all public office holders should always remember people sent them so that they can be remember for good as the departed is remembered for good. He commiserate with the family and constituents of Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibril on behalf of all members of the 6th Assembly.

All activities stepped down in honour of the former Speaker, KSHA and former Deputy Majority Leader, Federal House of Representatives.

The Speaker also asked Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Hassan Abdullahi of Dekina-Okura State Constituency and Rt. Hon. Aliyu Akuh of Omala State Constituency to pray for him and family in a Muslim and Christian way respectively.
