CHAIRMAN of the Bridge Builders, a socio-political pressure group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family in Ika South Local Government Area of the Delta State, Hon. Chuks Emuebie has called on the people in Ika Federal Constituency to collectively work for the re-election of the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in the 2019 general elections in the country.
Emuebie made the call during an enlarged meeting of members of the Bridge Builders held at Abavo where prayers were offered for the governor, his deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro and members of the state executive council.
According to him, there is absolute need for the people in the area to be absolutely united in order to give Governor Okowa an overwhelming victory in next year’s gubernatorial polls in the state, adding that the governor had done excellently well that he deserved to be re-elected for a second term.
In his remarks during the meeting/prayer session where a retinue of men of God (Pastors and Evangelists) prayed for the governor and members of the state executive council, the convener of the group, Mr. Peter Idion, reiterated the need for massive support for the Okowa led administration in the state.Idion who is, also, a Special Assistant to the governor on Community Relations, disclosed that the administration of Governor Okowa has brought monumental infrastructural growth and development to the state, adding that Governor Okowa was a man of extra ordinary virtue who, according to him, is irrevocably committed to the socio-economic well-being of all Deltans.
The convener of the group who was joined by the Deputy Chairman of the group and Special Assistant to the governor on Labour and Industrial Relations, Comrade Jonathan Ojobu said that the people of Ika South have witnessed a tremendous positive change through the faithful implementation of the SMART and Prosperity Agenda of the governor since he (Okowa) assumed office in 2015.
While applauding members of the group for their massive
attendance at the meeting, the duo of Idion and Ojobu urged residents in the area who have not been registered by the INEC to urgently do so to enable them obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC), just as they vowed not to relent in their support and campaign for Okowa until the opposition is completely silenced in the area.
Others who spoke during the ceremony included Mr. Ralph Obi Okoh, Lady Bridget Ogbebor (Lady B) and Hon. Michael Abanimoro and they all commended the state governor for his administration’s giant strides in providing
inspiring leadership that has stimulated sustainable growth and development across the state.
