Its no longer news that PMB will seek re-election come 2019. But his recent comment on the Nigerian Youth being "Lazy" is very disheartening as this shows that the leader of the most populous black nation on earth do no believe in his youths. Watching the viral video of the president at the recent Commonwealth heads of government meeting in London as he made that speech gave me heartache. PMB speech only gave me a clearer picture of how distant he is to the reality on the ground about the various contributions the Nigerian youths have made since the country embraced democracy over a decade ago in Sports, entertainment, education, Arts, health and Agriculture. Please let someone remind PMB that recent study in the USA shows that Nigerians are the most educated immigrants in the States as well as in western europe. How then can the leader make such defamatory comment about her youth? however, I am consoled by the fact that just as he was in London making that unceremonious description of the youths of his country, the Governor General and Commander in Chief of Canada her Excellency Rt Hon Julie Payette was busy decorating a Nigerian Youth with 39 other Canadians at Canada's Capital city Ottawa. This Young Nigerian, the first African to receive such an award was decorated with the government of Canada's Medal of Bravery with an MB designation attached to his name and gazetted into the official government records of Canada. The recipient, Samson Agboegbulem is from Agbor Delta State Nigeria. He recently completed his post-graduate studies in Canada and he is an alumnus of the University of Jos. The Nigerian Ambassador to Canada also hosted the young Nigerian at the Nigerian Embassy in Canada for the exemplary accomplishment he made in Canada and making this great nation of Nigeria proud.
