Millionaires All ! - Robbing The Treasury Via Constuency Allocations by Ade2K8(m): 3:45pm On May 16, 2010 |
Recently discovered that practically all our state and national legislators are millionaires via this incredible "legislative" stunt. When GJ had declared his assets a long while back, he'd indicated that he had approx $5MM. I remember thinking at the time that he seemed like a decent guy and wondered how he'd come about such a sum as he did not run any business I knew of. Apparently, this is perhaps (of course, not sure) his share of the constituency allocations (C.A.) since they share themselves every quarter to the tune of $300K/per qtr per year (state) and $600K/qtr/year (Federal - per 234next.com a few weeks back). Although we'll all get angry, it's true that the citizens of any country get the govt they deserve - this seems especially true in Naija. How I wish we had half the spine of the guys in Thailand. I'm hopeful that in the not-too-distant future, we can really have a people's party, where people who actually have an ounce of intergrity can come together for the national good. |
