I visited Adesewa once again at the hospital, but I found to my dismay that she has been transfer to another hospital. And the new hospital she was transferred to is known by non of the nurse's. I tried asking around but got thesame response.

A week later, I was sent by my boss to the TV station. As usual with my accompany yetunde. Well we are now getting along quite well, just that she do behave as she is my bae sometimes. Episode 7

Not everything that is faced can be changed. But nothing can be changed until it is faced.
On seeing fisayo, I know i have to do something before something else happen, not even with Adesewa. I walked up to her, with a smile, but behind my smile is a hatred. I wonder why she always show up whenever am with a lady. 
I can still see the anger burning in her eyes, buts its better I put out the fire in her eyes now or someone else will.

Me: fisayo, what are you doing here?

Fisayo : who is she?

Me: excuse me, so I can't talk to a female colleague again?

Fisayo : No! You think am a fool? Don't tell me she is just a colleague of yours. I know something is between you guys.

She moved away from where i am and head directly to Adesewa. Adesewa welcomed her with a smile but before she could say hello, Fisayo landed a slap on her face. Everyone opened their mouth in surprise, even the soldiers. Adesewa staggered backward, but one of the soldier held her and prevented her from falling. Immediately one of the soldier has remove a wipe (koboko) and he was about releasing some lashes on fisayo. But Adesewa held his hand and commanded him to stop. Two soldiers has already hold fisayo down. She was trembling like someone having a fever. "Let her go" she said and the soldiers freed her. Fisayo didnt wait a seconds there, she ran like a pregnant goat far away from the scene. I look at Adesewa, and for the very first time, I see tears forming in her eyes. I approached her, but I was stopped by one of the soldiers. They can only stop me from getting to her but they can't stop my voice from reaching her. 
"Adesewa am sorry " I said slowly. " let call it a day " she replied. But her eyes betrayed her, as one of the tears escaped down her eyes. She turned her back at me, as she was escorted back to her car. Yetunde walked up to me, she put her hands on my shoulder and caress it a little. " Ayo take your mind of it, we have work to do here " she said softly into my ears. I turned to face her, I can see that she is less concern about the way I feel. " you can go do the job alone, that's all you've always wanted, am done for today " I said then I walk angrily away from her.

I called taiwo to ask if they are home, he replied positively and I head directly to their place. They were both playing a vedio game when I arrived, we exchanged pleasantries and I explained everything that has happened to them.

Michael : I can't believe fisayo did all that.

Taiwo: is she crazy? How on earth will she slap Adesewa.

Me: am just confuse on what to do, I don't know if I will ever get the chance to say hi to Adesewa again.

Michael : do you think she's angry with you?

Me: I don't know, all I know is that.. She was in tears.

Michael : and where is that lunatic of a being.?

Me: I don't know, she will probably be waiting for me at home.

The best things in life are the people you love, the places you have seen and the memories you have made along the way.
Adesewa inviting me specially to her birthday means am specially important to her, or is it that she love me? Maybe she likes me, maybe she likes an idiot.
Immediately I closed for work I head directly to my friends place to quickly fill then up with the latest development.

I left there place and head straightly to my house, after spending like an hour looking for a birthday outfit to wear, I rested on the bed imaging how tomorrow will look like,where as forgotten I will have to go to work before going to the birthday. I couldn't sleep through out the night. I was just thinking of how the event will look like. after hours of thinking I slept around 4am in the morning.
I woke up around 6:30 am, a bit late to work, I quickly do some cleaning then head to the bathroom, and within 2 minutes am done.

I got back home around 4pm. I quickly prepare my dinner, cos in an occasion like that, someone needs to be fully okay from home, cos the party food might not reach your side and to avoid story that touch, I need to stay fully okay.
Around 6:30pm tawio and Michael arrived at my place. Their dressing was of someone going to a presidential feast.

The party got to a stage and the MC began calling those that are to sit on the high table, I was surprised when my name was mentioned, I winked at my guys then walk proudly to the high table.
" and the last person to on the list is the celebrant boyfriend, the person of Gbenga Falana, osun state governor son. Please welcome him up with claps" says the MC showing out his big teeth. I felt a little bit jealous but there nothing I can do. And the so called gbenga would be a spoilt brat.
It get to the dancing section and Adesewa was called to dance with one of the people on the high seat. Everyone was expecting her to pick gbenga, and suprisely she came up to me and said " can I have this dance ". " absolutely" I replied. I hold her hand and the music was played for us. I used to be a good dancer, but I never imagine Adesewa could dance really good. Her dancing steps were awesome, well mine wasn't bad neither. I caught a glance at gbenga while am still dancing with Adesewa, his eyes were burning like hell. Well I certainly don't care. I even winked at him.
After we are done dancing, the MC open the dancing floor for everyone, I was still dancing alone when two hefty bouncer systematically drag me to gbenga.

Gbenga: nice performance.

I never knew my life was in danger, ever since I received the threat from Gbenga, it happens miraculously that the closeness between Adesewa and I became so intimate. Our friendship increased beyond my imagination. It didn't came as surprise when she announced me has her best friend.

Adesewa : the last time I visited a guy at home, he almost rape me.

I ended the call then lie flat on the bed. I entered my thinking mode not long but when the thinking is not enough, I began soliloquizing.
" and what should I call this... Why such a strange feeling... Could it be a feeling of love? Is this how it feels to be in love? This feelings is just so unexplainable. I think am in love with Adesewa. And why am I finding it difficult to tell her? Maybe because I've never tell a lady that I love her. All my feelings are base on lust. Goddamn it!! That's why asking a lady out was so damn easy. Adesewa am gonna come for you. No matter what. "

Love is a beautiful thing, I must admit. Ever since I unknowingly fell in love with Adesewa. My life began changing for good. Or maybe am only trying to impress someone by doing away with my 'motherfuckers '. Maybe not. Maybe am doing it for love...

One beautiful Saturday morning taiwo and Michael payed me an unexpected visit.

Me: who am I seeing, they pursue una for house abi your rent don due?

Taiwo : which kind question be that self.

Michael : na your papa pursue us comot idiot.

Me: cos this early momo visit no understand me ni ooo.

Me: Na hunger pursue you comot?

Michael : I didn't say you shouldn't eat. Ay, he don lunch one solid eba this morning as at 5 am.

Taiwo : na to 8 we dey. That one don digest.

Me: so what's up?

Michael : nothing much, we are here to say hi.

Me: did you guys help me see Adesewa.

Taiwo : she lost?

Michael : we resemble searching squads? Abi which kind question this baba dey ask us.

Me: no jare am just missing her.

Michael : when was the last time you speak with her?

Me: an hour ago.

Taiwo : and you are missing her?

Me: yes na.

Michael : don't you know her papa house?

Me : seriously. You guys won't believe what am about to say.

Taiwo : you don give your landlady pregnant?

Me: you smoke for head?

Michael : what is it jare?

Me: am in love with Adesewa.

Both: we know.

Me: you know?

Michael : yes of cos

Taiwo : even a blind man will.

Me: ohhh.. So what do you guys say about it.

Michael : have you express your mind to her?

Me: No...

Michael : what's holding you back.

Me: emmm... I don't know how to say this. Its very embrassing.

Taiwo : what is it?

Me: am scared.

Michael : now I believe you are truly in love. Its normal to be scared.

Taiwo : Ay the woman warrior, afraid of talking to a lady. Unbelievable!

Michael : parrot e don do.

Me: I think I will just let her know the way I feel, if she say yes. My luck and if she say no. My bad.

Michael : I support you bro.

The following week I made up my mind to pour all my heart to Adesewa, whether she accept me or not... Have never receive a NO, I pray she won't be my first.
On Monday morning I was preparing for work when I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door and 2 men clad on black entered in.

Man 1: are you Mr Ayo.

Me: Yes how may I help you.

Man 2 : we are payed to kill you.
( pointing a gun at me)

Me: oh my God!!

Man 1: how dare you drag a lady with an honorable man.

Me: ahh please don't kill me.

Men 2: any last word.

Before I could open my mouth to talk, one of them pull the trigger, and that was all I remember.

Episode 10

Every moment of life is a step towards death.

I saw my body lying helplessly on the floor. I tried to open the door but couldn't hold a grab. I penetrated through the door and I found myself outside. I saw one of my neighbors watching cloth, I called on him, but he seems not to hear. I move closer to him and scream more louder to his ear... But he didn't hear me. I try to touch him but my hand slip over. I moved away from him and exit the compound. I head to my friends place. I met then eating rice. I called on them but non of them seems to hear me. Then its started occurring to me that am all alone and dead...
I sat down on the floor and began crying bitterly. " so this is the end of the journey for me, so my friends won't be able to hear non see me again. " I said as I cry bitterly.
I left there and head to Gen Adelaja house with the hope of talking to Adesewa. On entering the compound. The two dogs on chain began barking non stop. I closed my eyes then imagine am with Adesewa. By the time I opened it, I found myself beside Adesewa in her room.I saw her combing her hair, I move closer to her then whisper softly into her ears " Adesewa, am here can you here me? " she continue combing her hair then all of a sudden she look at me direction. I thought she heard me, not until she walk through me into the bathroom. I screamed her name more loudly but she didn't hear me. Cloud of tears entwined my eyes, I move very fast away from her, I found myself in the living room, there sitted in the living room was Gen Adelaja, Gbenga Father and Gbenga . I heard them discussing about getting Adesewa and Gbenga married. My tears mixed with anger, right before my very eyes, everything is being taken away from me, my life and also my woman. By that so called Gbenga, am just so helpless.
I can hear the dog still barking, so I advance towards one of them.
" it seems you can see me, can you hear me? Please if you can see and hear me... Can you help me tell Adesewa that I love her... Can you please, everyone seems to not see non hear me. Tell Adesewa that I love her. " I said and hot tears began rolling down my eyes. The dog stop barking and look directly into my eyes as if to say something. But he sorrowfully take his head down and gave a sad whine. " I got it friend, thanks for your concern " I said then I take my leave.
I began roaming about the street with the hope to see someone that can hear and see me but I found non. After a while I head back home, on approaching the compound, I saw alot of crowd in front of the house. Some were crying and yelling, I saw my friends in tears. Not long, an ambulance entered the compound and I saw my lifeless body being taken into the ambulance, and the body was drove away. 10 minutes after the ambulance was gone. Adesewa car entered the compound, she hurriedly rush out of the car and approached Michael. She hold him tightly on his clothe and began trowing several question at him.
" please where is ay, tell me its a lie. Please tell me is not true. Michael!!! Talk to me!!! " Michael look at her then shake his head sadly. Adesewa make a loud scream then she fall back on the ground with her back. The people around there rushed to her and she was taken to the hospital.

I never believe my death could attract alot of horrible things like this. Adesewa is being admited in the hospital just because of me.
My ever happy friends became someone waking up everyday with tears in their eyes. Mama Ayo was always crying whenever I see her and papa Ayo is not too far away from crying. Its just that he does his silently.

I was roaming about one afternoon when I saw a lady crying, she was putting on thesame white cloth as mine. I approached her then ask her the reason for her tears, she look at my direction then she take back her head and continue the cry. I thought maybe she can't see me, I was about leaving her side when I heard her saying something. " because am dead " she said. " so you can hear me? " I asked with much joy. " yes I can, because we are in the same spirit world " she replied.
" I thought am alone " I said looking directly at her. " Yea, you are alone" she said then made to leave. " so what's your name? " I asked after her. " I was called Ruth" she said then she disappear.

I head to the hospital where Adesewa was admitted. She's yet to open her eyes, I wonder what's going on. Then I heard the doctor talking about her condition to her father, Gen Adelaja. " am sorry sir, your daughter illness is somehow strange to me, she's not responding to treatment, I would advise you to try consulting our local ways of healing. I hope you understand what I mean by that " the doctor said. Gen Adelaja bow his head in sadness and arrange for Adesewa to be transfer.
I followed them to where she was taken to, and I found out that its a herbalist place.
Something prevented me from entering the compound, but I can hear everything they are saying clearly from where I am.
The herbalist consulted the oracle, and after a while of incantation he speak up.

Herbalist : I see death following your daughter.

Gen Adelaja : death as how baba.?

Herbalist : by this time tomorrow she will be dead.

Gen Adelaja : ha baba, please don't let her die, she's the only daughter I have in this earth. Her mother is dead am left with only her, please don't let her die.

Herbalist : her soul is attached to another soul, but that soul is no more.

Gen Adelaja : I still don't understand baba.

Herbalist : your daughter life is dependable on someone else life. Once that person is dead, your daughter too will die.

Gen Adelaja : ha baba!! What is the way out.

Herbalist : Am sorry son, there's nothing I can do.

Gen Adelaja lie flat on the floor and he began crying. Now I understand everything the herbalist said to him. Adesewa is going to die if I remain dead. The only way to save Adesewa is if am alive. But am not alive, am dead...

I ran out of the compound crying bitterly, Ruth saw me and asked me the reason why am crying.

Ruth: why are you in tears?

Me: someone I love is going to die tomorrow because am dead.

Ruth : am very sorry to hear that.

Me: why are we like this?

Ruth: because, our time is not yet up.

Me: really?

Ruth: yes, we die before our time.

Me: is there any hope for us.

Ruth: we are hopeless.

Me: oh so Adesewa is going to die?

Ruth : is that her name?

Me: yes.

Ruth : some have the hope of after life, some have the hope of returning back to life, but its takes only a miracle for that to happen.

Me: so I could return?

Ruth : with only a miracle.

Me: maybe the miracle will work for me.

Ruth : I hate to disillusion you... We are as good as hopeless.

I left her then move to a silent spot.

" God please, I know that am a sinner, second chance is all I asked for, am not asking for a second chance just because of I need it. But because of Adesewa, the woman I love so much, God please I don't want her to die. I didn't worth being given a second chance but she worth more than it. God please spare her life, don't let her die because of me. God please... "

I felt a sudden vibration like an electric shock all over my body. And everything went black before my eyes.

A love like you've never known is closer than you think...

At the herbalist house, where Adesewa was still lying. There was a heavy thunder storm which caused panic on everybody even the soldiers on guard were terrified . Gen Adelaja began wondering what's happening.

Gen Adelaja : baba what's happening?

Herbalist : something strange is happening.

Gen Adelaja : strange as how?

Herbalist : I also don't know . let me consult the oracle.

Gen Adelaja : do it fast baba.

The herbalist began saying some incantation then he stop all of a sudden and face Gen Adelaja. He looks like someone being possessed by the spirit , his face were red as fire.

Herbalist : the dead is rising!!!

Gen Adelaja : the dead is rising? What do you mean baba?

Herbalist : find him and bring him here !!!

Gen Adelaja : baba you are speaking in parables. I certainly don't understand what you are saying.

Herbalist : if you love your daughter, find him and bring him here. I won't say more than that.

Gen Adelaja ran outside in confusion. He almost stumble on one of his soldiers.

Soldier : is anything the matter sir?

Gen Adelaja : do I look happy you fool!!!

Soldier : am sorry sir!!!

Gen Adelaja : wait... you drive Adesewa right?

Soldier : Yes sir, am her driver.

Gen Adelaja: who was close to Adesewa.

Soldier : sir?

Gen Adelaja : I need a direct answer you fool!!!

Soldier :** trembling *** I only know of one person sir.

Gen Adelaja: who is the person!!!

Soldier : a boy that work at the weather station sir. Ayo was his name.

Gen Adelaja: and where is he?

Soldier : am sorry he's dead , he died last week.

Gen Adelaja : yes that's it. Take me to his corpse.

Soldier : sir?

Gen Adelaja : do you need a resounding slap??

Soldier : no sir.

Gen Adelaja : where can I found his corpse?

Soldier : its should still be at the state hospital mortuary.

Gen Adelaja : take me there right now!!!

Soldier : yes sir!!!

I opened my eyes to find myself in place as cold as a refrigerator. I look sideway and I see dead corpse lied side by side beside me. on seeing this, I hurriedly rise on my feet. I look around me and I see more of dead corpses. " where is this place, and what am I doing here with the dead " I asked myself this question.
I saw a door close to where I am, so I approached the door. Lucky for me the door wasn't lock, so I opened the door and stepped outside. I saw a man sleeping loudly beside the door.
" excuse me sir, can you tell me where I am " I said.
The man look at me terrified, then all of a sudden, he picked a race. I wonder why he ran, I thought maybe he see a danger so me too I run after him shouting for him to stop.
And before I knew it, everywhere was in chaos. Whoever that see me or I came across with, run like they are seeing a ghost. Some were shouting and screaming " ghost ghost!! " I tried telling them that am not a ghost, but no one seems to hear of it.

I met Gen Adelaja and a soldier on the way. Immediately the soldier sighted me he screamed up then took to his knees like a terrified pig. Gen Adelaja stood his ground , but it was obvious that he's shaking beneath.

Me: sir , why are people running away from me?

Gen Adelaja : its okay son. The worst is over.

Me: the worst?

Gen Adelaja : yes son, please follow me, I have a place to take you to.

Me: where?

Gen Adelaja : I will explain everything to you on the way.

***** ****** ***** ****** ****** ****** ********

I saw Adesewa being lied on the floor. I rush to her then caress her hair.

Me: please what happened to her?

Gen Adelaja : you are responsible for her predicament.

Me: me? How?

Herbalist : her life was dependable on yours.

Me: I don't get you.?

Herbalist : you were dead.

Me: I was dead, when.? Am not! am alive.

Herbalist : think very well, who was the last person you saw.

Me: the last person I saw?

Herbalist : yes think deeply.

Me: I... I... I think its... RUTH!!!

Herbalist : who is Ruth?

Me: I think... She's like me.

Herbalist : like you...

Me: yes we are different.

Herbalist : different?

Me: yes in the spirit world.

Herbalist : and now you've return. Now you need to wake Adesewa up.

Me: how?

I moved closer to Adesewa and hold her tightly by her hand.

And slowly she gave a short sign and her eyes were opened. I hurriedly hug her tight.

Adesewa : ayo i thought you are dead. What happened?

Me: its okay my dear, am back for you.

Adesewa : promise me you won't leave me again.

Me: I promise.
