SENATOR Dino Melaye has injured himself while trying to escape from men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad while being conveyed to his native state.

The lawmaker had attempted to escape on Tuesday, by jumping out of a moving vehicle and headed for the bush.

His action forced security operatives who were in the journey with him to also spontaneously jump chasing him in a bid to take captive of the Senator.

However, Daily Sun is reporting that he has since been held hostage and found critically injured in the process of trying to escape.

The paper reports that while Melaye has been taken captive of by the security agency, he was later taken to Zanklin Hospital in the nation’s capital with a neck protection and on a stretcher.
