i pity we Nigerians.we are actually going back to the days of the primitive era.the problems we have is that we do not study events around us.firstly, the premiership Tv license was bid for by three big media houses in britain,Bcc,sky and Itv. sky won the right despite bbc being government owned establishment.if it has been the case in Nigeria,there is no way Ait or Mbi would been granted such right.secondly,showtime network a direct to home tv satellite company base in Dubai just out bid Art sport to the premiership right for the whole of the middle east and north africa for next three seasons which means that there will be no english league matches on Art  sport for that period and no country in this areas cried fowl.

it is very painful that in Nigeria we are always looking up to government do things for us.what stopped Trend TV,Titv,Fss etc from pulling  forces together and out bid Dstv and share contents among themsevles.if we carefully check the brain behind Hitv,we will find out that the past information minister has a financial stake.

by this act of government,we are not encouraging  foreign investors and every country needs them for growth.most of you may not be aware that supersport is not even a south african company but owned by a British group.hope ours will not end up like the situation in Zimbabwe were their government drove out all white farmers and are now dying of hunger.

there is no way you can compare Hitv with supersport.one is direct to home satellite company which leaves control in your hand and the other is like the Ctls and Cmtvs were someone at a trasmission centre put up what ever channel he feel suitable at any time.and do not forget the frequent break down of facilities and power failures at transmision sites.


moreover,no cable tv company in Nigeria can boarst of packaging the quality of channels Dtsv has and still charge far less.
