my brother, nothing wrong with it, You will find lots male hair stylist all around Lagos. There is nothing wrong with it. A lady friend once said that men do her as they show more care and concern. Visit some of the boutiques on Allen or go to the retail market at Ogba.

Re: I Want To Be A Hair Stylist by waleleader(m): 3:28pm On Mar 18, 2007
Aint nothing wrong with it, but remember its a woman's trade so you have to talk, act and think like a woman to become the best. You really need to get into a woman's psyche to understand the styles, the pattern and stuff that will make a woman look good and appreciate your work

[s]One problem tho, only a gay guy can truly get into a woman psyche[/s]

Well, imao, no one is born gay

People become homosexuals because of thier relationship experiences, education, job (especially in fashion and style) and fear of a decent heterosexual relationship.

so if a guy become a hairstylist, he'll have to gist like women do in a salon (thats so gay)
he'll have to think of hair products, styles and worry about the thngs women worry about. Gradually he becomes a woman just like tomboys gradually become lesbians.
PS: not all tho, just a majority
Re: I Want To Be A Hair Stylist by sisimose(f): 4:12pm On Mar 18, 2007

Re: I Want To Be A Hair Stylist by waleleader(m): 4:19pm On Mar 18, 2007
YES of course, do u really think people are born gay? Ok, look at the case of black guys at correctional facilities in America, they become gay because thats the only sexual experience they get in the prisons. even when they come out and meet women, they still fancy guys

@ trippled

I encourge u to do what is in your mind but do me a favour to answer this question to cool the hot atmosphere and be frank to your self.
"Are u gay"
Re: I Want To Be A Hair Stylist by chichimma(f): 4:44pm On Mar 19, 2007
I prefer having my hair done by a man hair stylist than a woman. Several ( so called) female hair stylist have done my hair ( back home and in the Netherlands) and there was always one thing or the other lacking. They are mostly very impatient and do the hair how they like it. I have a male hair stylist ( Ghanaian) that does my hair once in three months like washing, trimming and styling and I love it . He takes his time and does it properly. Whenever, I go to the hair salon most women want him to do their hair than the other  female stylists that are present even if it will take hours to wait.

In addition, he is not gay but happily married.

Go ahead and become a hair stylist you will make a lot of women happy wink especially when you have the skills to make us more pretty grin.
Re: I Want To Be A Hair Stylist by waleleader(m): 4:59pm On Mar 19, 2007
Why do women love male hairstylist

The joy of having a man massage your scalp, gently. His deep voice in your ears when youre in a state of bliss

who no like better thing, especially when it comes free. grin grin

Men have to pay so much to enjoy a similar experience

i know someone who made Over 7000 pounds plaiting hair in JD over a 3 month holiday!
Re: I Want To Be A Hair Stylist by daprince: 10:25pm On Mar 19, 2007
Please don't ask, "are u a gay?" because that doesn't look good to the eyes or sound nice to the ears. Ask "are u gay?" without the "a."

@ Trippled,
Being a hairstylist doesn't really make u gay, but most male hairstylists are. But ask yourself this before jumping on it, how straight are u? The profession kind of sounds gay to me, but lotta guys do it. But hey dawg, go do what u gotta do if it's going to make u happy. But once in a while, still hit on the ladies to test if u are still straight or "bent"
Re: I Want To Be A Hair Stylist by trippled(m): 2:10am On Mar 20, 2007
i really appreciate ur concern.what i want is just an address of where to learn from.thx
Re: I Want To Be A Hair Stylist by Ndipe(m): 2:50am On Mar 21, 2007
Here we go again with this double standard. We have women who are employed in the male dominated profession, like cab driving and the rest, and no eyebrow has been raised. The moment a man decides to engage himself in an otherwise female profession, he is ridiculed. Get on with the times. And to the poster, if you feel that is your calling, then go for it. Ignore your critics.
