The All Progressives Congress however won Soba, Zaria, Lere, Ikara, Makarfi, Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Kagarko, Kudan, Igabi and Kajuru local councils. The results in other councils are still being awaited. Kudan is the local council of Senator Sule Hunkuyi, who is at loggerheads with Governor Nasir El-Rufai. Makarfi is the council of former PDP chairman and governor, Ahmad Makarfi. Governor El-Rufai’s candidates also won handily in Senator Shehu Sani’s constituency of Kajuru LG.The council elections were conducted using electronic voting machines in the area. In Zaria, APC polled 42859 votes, while PDP got 16033. In Soba, APC got 40903, while PDP scored 13835. This is the first time a state has adopted the use of electronic machines to conduct elections in Nigeria. The full press release. UPDATE ON THE LG ELECTION IN KADUNA We have been up and doing to ensure that our mandate is not compromised in the just concluded local government election in Kaduna State. Reports on ground show that APGA candidates performed impressively despite the obvious plot to intimidate them in order to rewrite the results where possible. Security agents and thugs have been hounding our candidates and supporters since yesterday to cow them. Happily they have vowed not to be intimidated. For instance, in Tudun Wada Ward, APGA candidate won but the returning officer rather declared the APC candidate the winner. The same for Ikara LG chairmanship which APGA candidate won with a wide margin of over 305 votes. There are plots not to declare our candidate winner. Up till now the result has not been announced officially since the returning officer is nowhere to be found. Our supporters have mounted sentry at the KADSIEC office to ensure the rightful winner is announced. I am glad to announce that our candidate in Sabon Tasir Ward has officially been declared the winner of the election. We are watching and on full alert. APGA is our own. It is quite dishearten shameful and confusing as well that APC is still scoring points in this country although low. Are those voting for APC aliens? I doubt and question their nationalities as Nigerians. |

Op must be high on Fura denono and cowdung because in Nigeria,no state opposition party wins a single councillorship election,sayless an entire LG. It's even worse in Kaduna where El-Rufai is creating and fighting opponents both within APC and without. By midday I know,as is typical in Nigeria,the "real result",showing El Rufai faction of APC winning all seats,will emerge. Buhari has not advanced democracy one "shishi" since he came in and don't expect that advancement would start from Kaduna,home of one of his most ardent asslicker governors. 1 Like |

PDP e- warriors you guys have started with fake results online and ego massaging of your followers when the real results from Kaduna SIEC comes out it will be APC sweeps all local council. Fani Kayode did released a fake online result in 2015 that said PDP was leading in 22 states but when the real results from INEC was released it turned out that actually APC was leading in 22 states. 5 Likes |
