BREAKING: Senate Finally Lays 2018 Budget by dipoolowoo: 12:23pm On May 15, 2018
By Dipo Olowookere

The Nigerian Senate on Tuesday finally laid the 2018 appropriation bill after postponing it in the past two different times.

The #Budget2018 Report was laid on the floor of plenary today by Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, Mr Danjuma Goje.

Last week, spokesman of the upper parliament, Mr Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, said the Senate would lay the report last Tuesday and pass on Wednesday and if it was not laid on Tuesday, it would be done on Wednesday to be passed today.

However, the red chamber did not lay the 2018 budget report any of the above days until today, when it was finally laid.

With this done, the 2018 appropriation bill is due for passage tomorrow or Thursday.

Yesterday, Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, disclosed that government was closing the 2017 budget with N1.5 trillion spent on capital expenditure.

Sai Baba
I just like this man called Buhari.
See how he has humbled the NASS who were hoping of collecting GMG (Ghana Must Go) bags before passing the budget.

They also claimed they will not screen any Person nominated by the President till he sacks Magu but they have been screening when nobody talk to them

I don't know why some people think that the only problem they have is the Senate. I can tell u that the executive is mainly the problem of this budget passage. How can a ministry be bandying figures without knowing what to do with it? How can a minister not know what he wants to do with a particular figure in a budget? When the head is not faulty, the whole body becomes faulty automatically.

Useless Senators. They contribute more to the problems of this country, when the year is almost half you are just passing budget of a country, how on earth do you then expect the president to do magic and develop the country?

The most useless and most selfish senate in the history of Nigeria. Now they will have to eat humble pie as no Ghana must go and no budget padding is allowed.

The country has won, I dont know why it had to wait this long after 7 months. Whatever be the case lets move on, in most cases it is the invisible hands that fights for Nigeria. And we thank God for the resilient economy he blessed us with, which makes it possible that after all attack and looting of the common resources the economy bounces back.
