The Nigerian National Assembly has increased the amount of the 2018 budget to N9.120 trillion from N8.612 trillion.

The details of the budget were listed on the order paper available at the senate.

The Chairman of the committee, Sen. Danjuma Goje, laid the report before the Senate in plenary, six months after it was presented by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senate and House of Representatives had promised to pass the budget on April 24, but failed to do so.

Just like someone said on radio this morning..2015 budget was passed, same to 2016, and 2017 and the effect wasnt felt by him, so why should he be concerned about the budget passed or not..it is only the politicians and their immediate family that would enjoy it...so it none of my business......Kokan aye...Let me continue looking for customers....

shocked

NASS is a big joke in this country little wonder they no longer command respect as before.

Their gameplan is to always delay the budget approval to a latter time so as to pad it up with figures and then table it to the executive who at this time becomes impatient and likely give accent.

Thereafter the loot from the padded numbers is shared.

Nigeria is a bigger joke since we are almost halfway into 2018 and the annual budget is yet to be approved.

Buhari is the biggest joke.

High budget since 2015, still nothing tangible to show for it.

I am sure they won't approve if they are not allowed to increase the budget....

LOL.

Later some fool would say "everyone is the government". Everyone is not the government, at least not in Nigeria, or else how can you explain why there would be increment to the budget without thorough explanation. What of the previous budget? Is there accountability for it? Because this is public money for Chrissakes. They owe us an explanation. They should not just act in the dark.

It's not enough to vote out Buhari come 2019. There needs to be a total overhaul of the system to allow transparency and accountability because whether anyone likes it or not these men are nothing more than public servants and they owe allegiance to us.

Is that the reason why they've been delaying the passage of the budget?
