The former governor of Plateau state and senator representing Plateau North senatorial district, Jonah David Jang, has reportedly paid off the outstanding electricity bills of Jos prison where he has been locked up since Wednesday, May 16. Jang was remanded in prison after his arraignment at Kogi state high court on May 16 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. The senator is facing a twelve count charge over alleged corruption and misappropriation of N6.3 billion during the last leg of his tenure as governor of Plateau state.
