According to reports, the Bauchi state house of Assembly mace was snatched during a siting to remove Ahmed Haruna, minority leader of the assembly, who represents Gombe north state constituency.

Haruna was reported to have held a press conference on May 5th condemning the ward congress of the All Progressives Congress in the state. This angered members of the party in the Assembly, which is dominated by the People’s Democratic Party,
