Jonathan Made Nigeria A Laughing Stock – Presidency by Ecstasy154(m): 1:53pm On May 26, 2018
By Johnbosco Agbakwuru, Abuja

The Presidency on Saturday said that it was the Peoples Democratic Party led government under former President Goodluck Jonathan that brought shame to the country and made her a laughing stock in the comity of nations.

This is coming on the heels of the comments attributed to former President Jonathan where he was quoted as saying that he was ashamed that Nigeria has joined comity of countries used to illustrate bad governance.

The former President who was at the inauguration of the first bridge built by Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state in Ado Ekiti on Friday, allegedly said that Nigeria under President Muhammadu Buhari has become a reference point for negative things.

Jonathan was said to have cited recent instances when the Ghanaian President, Nana Akufo-Addo allegedly mocked the poor state of security in Nigeria and the naira’s weakening status.

He was quoted to have said, “He (Nana Akufo-Addo) said Ghana is not like Nigeria where cattle roam the streets. At another occasion in the United Kingdom, he made scathing remarks about Nigeria’s currency.

“I feel ashamed as a former President that the President of a neighbouring country used Nigeria as negative examples.

“If a neighbouring African President will use Nigeria to make negative examples, then we as leaders must know certain things are wrong in the country.”

But the Presidency has told former President Jonathan to give the Buhari-led administration a breathing space to clean the mess of his administration.

Speaking to Sunday Vanguard while reacting to the allegation by Jonathan against Buhari’s government, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu said that Nigeria was a paria nation under the previous administration but that the country has started gaining back respect in the government.

She said, “Who put us there. He is the one in the mirror, who put us there? The picture is of himself. Let him look at the mirror. So what else does he want to see.

“President Buhari is trying to clean up the mess and he is doing a good job of it. please they should allow him time to do this thing.

“We are gaining back our respectability globally even the citizens when they travel out of the country, they are better respected than they were before. It was a big shame but we are happy that Mr. Jonathan himself is realising this and hope that his political party will own up what they did to the country.

“He made Nigeria a laughing stock, if other countries are laughing at Nigeria, who put us there? Are they not the one?”

The problem of roaming cattle took on gargantuan proportions of menace and danger when their grand patron came into office in 2015. That is why the Ghanaian President referred to Nigeria in terms of roaming cattle. It is the same scarecrow with his useless policies that tanked the Naira. Shehu Garba should tell his boss and handlers to clean up their own bloody mess!

Instead of working on how to address the eyesore of roaming cattle, heightened insecurity and the weakened currency, he pulls out their 'trusty' blame game card...totally expired crap!

This administration is too toxic. Their reactions to issues are always unpresidential and petty. Maybe when the likes of that woman onochie, femi adesina etc were employed, they weren't given any specific scope of function thereby leaving them to believe their duty is to look for real and perceived enemies to insult.
Then we have a minister of information who still acts like apc spokesman and attack dog, not knowing that by that ministerial appointment, he is now our no1 brand ambassador on the global scene.
Sad. Very sad indeed. How did we find ourselves with such incompetence

And who have told the world that;
-"My people are useless,..senseless,..& indiscipline"?
-"Nigerians are criminals that is why they're always seeking asylum in Europe"?
-"......My wife belongs to the other room" in the presence of a notable woman & world leader-Angella Merkel?
-“About the economy,we have a very young population, our population.....“More than 60 percent of the population is below 30, a lot of them haven’t been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria is an oil producing country, therefore, they should sit and do nothing, and get housing, healthcare, education free,” Buhari said.

Buhari-led APC government is really filled with shit-filled ,deluded & paranoid people I swear.Perhaps this regime thinks that the global community are morons as they're.

Jonathan made Nigeria a laughing stock yet it took the world three years after he left to laugh. The world must have been very slow in catching the joke.

How many times has Buhari made Nigeria a laughing stock since he became President?

Lets start with him going to UK early into his administration and demanding they give him all the money Nigerians have stashed in their banks.

Then there was the incidence of West Germany and President Merkel which was closely followed by the Oza Room comment.

How about the part where he holed up in London for upwards of 3mths straight seeking Medical attention?

The gaffes this idiot has committed is too much to bear.

Buhari is easily the worst President ever.

A bungling idiot who thinks highly of his foolishness.

If they "laughed" at us then, today, the entire word weep at what Buhari has reduced Nigeria to.

Killings all over the land with what has become official policy of silence in the face of these murders.

Just like T.Y. Danjuma said "...they collude, they collude, they collude!"

Crude oil price at international market is over $70 for some time now & still everywhere still doesn't look like things will improve ,upon the fact that they are pumping over 2million barrel per day.

These aides are the biggest problems of Nigeria today

When they sack them now, they write a book..
Very shameless...

See Reuben abati,see Shehu,even Adesina............
Both of you are making Nigeria a laughing-stock and should be ashamed of yourselves and generations unborn will be told you contributed to the problems that suffice today....

Stupid, foolish aides representing a more useless gonment.

Shehu must be mad....trying to deflect from the many failings that his god has dished out to us

The only thing I picked out is that Garba Shehu,a presidential spokesman, does not know the meaning of 'pariah'.
At his age, educational level, former editor, and a presidential spokesman,it speaks a lot that Garba does not understand what a 'pariah' state or country means.

He was not even suppose to be a brass local government chairman.

We wasted 16 good years. That is too much for a sane Nigerian to bear.
