The election result was as a result of the crisis in OYO state APC. Most of the leaders of the APC in Ibarapa East belong to the Unity Forum, and felt sidelined by the Governor's decision to singlehandedly pick a candidate without consulting them, coupled with the fact that Eruwa has 6 wards, while Lanlate has 4 of the Constituency's 10. Unfortunately, Eruwa massively supported Debo Ogundoyin, while Lanlate's votes were split between APC's Kunle Adeyemo and Accord's Adelodun Adepoju. The rest they say, is history 2 Likes |

I congratulated the guy. He must be from the Ogundoyin dynasty of Eruwa. He must be either a son or grandson of late business mongul - Chief Adeseun Ogundoyin, the founder of Crown Trust Group and owner of Femo Scorpion Football Club of Eruwa in those days when Nigeria league was tough. Chief was in the class of late Chief MKO Abiola. Ajimobi tried for allowing those who worked for the party to contest. That was what happened in Osun State when Governor Aregbe denied Senator Ademola Adeleke the APC slot to replace his brother. Eventually, he won under PDP. In some rural communities, your family background & what your ancestors have done matters a lot. |
