Honestly it is appalling. I know what I faced last week on my way to yaba, we spent several hours in traffic because of these selfish dunderheads. This isn't d only place they do this rubbish, on the expressway especially on your way to Ilorin, the narrow Oyo-Ilorin road u'll see them Park their trucks on the road At a stretch.

The worst thing is that most of them are northerners, they come into your domain and start trying all sort of rubbish.
You even see them along Ore, Edo, Delta roads(those who travel to the East know better). They are the major causes of traffic on the road while travelling. These trucks destroy our already destroyed roads thereby making it worse than it already is cry God help us!

It has become a regular sight. It is the long stretch of parked trailers. They all line up along the stretch of a massive 12.4km of expressway, from Onipanu to the ports in Apapa.

Several bridges along the way are not spared of their presence and enormous weights. The bridges include: Ojuelegba, Abati, Stadium, Ijora, Iganmu, Eko, Carter and Jibowu bridges.

These parked articulated vehicles are also the cause of the chaotic traffic flow on and around these bridges.

They typically cause journeys that ought to be in minutes to last for hours.

Even the government appears incredibly clueless about a solution the situation.

Only God knows how long Lagosians would have to put up with this nuisance.

This is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode. May we and our families be spared on the day of any disaster caused by those parked trailers and container trucks. What is the LASG doing to perpetually put an end to this highly potential dangerous situation? Can't a trailer park be built? Can't a law be enacted to discourage drivers from parking their trailers on the road?

as a stakeholder in the maritime business, I will point out some salient issues, there are 3 ports (2 major, Apapa quay and Tin can) and there is PTML, successive government have abandoned the roads to port to an unbelievable rot, the shortest route from Oshodi to Apapa is through Mile 2 /coconut road but it is impassable, neglected and in serious decay, if you are loading a container going to Agbara, you have no business going towards Area B/ijora road bcoz its a long journey and wrong route, so the only accessible road to the 3 ports is Area B through western avenue, and alas the only road got damaged too!!! And this compounded d situation, though it is under repair by guess who? Dangote! FG couldn't fix the road to the 2nd revenue earner of d govt, another point is the terminal operators, d ports were privatized in 2003/2004 to private entity but they don't have d capacity to handle d deluge of containers coming into d country, Nigeria imports virtually everything, the 3rd issue is the empty containers, the shipping companies don't have regulatory bodies to caution them on where to drop off the emptyies, you can not laden trucks with containers without providing holding bay for the emptyies, the FG should as a matter of urgency send powerful delegation to the ports before the economy is grounded, the only luck they have is that the supposed union for truck owners are fake and self serving, if not they should have caused a major shake in d economy, trust the petrol tankers union, they are the bested!!!!

There should be a legislation to ban this trucks in places like this.
Economically it doesn't make sense to transport goods from one state to another talkless of one region to another through this means of transportation.
Damages done to the roads and bridges across the country and most importantly loss of lives and properties daily through this same means of transportation when order safer means of transportation can be utilized.

Nice... after the ban what then? Are the railways conducive? Federal or State needs to invest in trailer parks, and make sure police enforce the law properly. The problem is not the trailer drivers.
