Please, if you are from Cross River or akwa Ibom, inform any body you know, that he or she should not pass through Ogoja Abakaliki road. Serious war between ukelle in yala and izzi in Abakaliki.

Nice move but adequate measures and incentives to absorb them should be put in place. From recent findings, okada riders have proven to cause more harm than good that is if there's any not leaving out their senseless and careless driving.

Just imagine the untold hardship this ridiculous and animalistic ban will bring to okada owners, their families and the populace using them as a means of transportation. Imagine the increase in unemployment, and this is a government that suppose to provide employment to its citizens.

They claim to have made provision for the affected to switch over to alternative means; but the whole thing is asinine. In a saner clime where humans are leaders, this ban and switching over to alternative means suppose to be a gradual process so that adaptation will be easy for the victims.

I still repeat, no Nigeria politician has an IQ above 5%. Churning senseless policies and making preposterous hasty decisions are their specialities.

What an evil demonic barbaric enclave we call a country. The only thing people know and do best in this country is making it unlivable for the inhabitants.

I wonder what backup plan the government has for this as the move can turn out to be counter-productive as motorcyclists would find themselves stranded, causing crime rate to increase...

and don't say "but they were told beforehand". should they throw their bikes away? who would have bought the bikes being sold at emergency for a reasonable price?

it's quite unfortunate we have government who is highly insensitive. we understand that the development is for the benefit of the state, nonetheless the process was hasty and repercussions not well thought out. ..

hope they are ready to beef up security and build more prisons, because there will be increase in crime rate. ..

95℅ of the okada riders are ebonyi people. They should take their bikes to ebonyi or their gov must buy them shuttle buses if they must remain in Anambra.

This is a very good policy of the government.

Nigeria's economy is still to small to accommodate these kind of ban in 'small scale hustle'. Though the need for change and modernization is dire, we must acknowledge the fact that above 70% of our population live below poverty line, and these bike riding families make up a vast amount our middle class population.

Even India with it much larger economy acknowledges this. We should stop fooling ourselves. If we send these men off the street, expect to see RISE in crime rate. You can't cheat nature!

this move is wrong on so many levels.. what then becomes of the families of the motorcycle riders. we Igbo's have an adage "one who's palm kernel was cracked by a benevolent spirit should not laugh at another who is struggling with a stone" .. the lack of empathy in this present generation is scary... God help us in the streets

Is okada still in Enugu? I know why most of you non Anambra people are crying is because Enugu state and their Ebonyi cousins constitutes over 98℅ of okada riders. Now what you should do is to take your okada back to your state of origin because okada has been banned in Anambra cities. We here in Anambra have no responsibility to provide you with any job, go to your gov in Enugu state and cry to him. If you must remain in Anambra then you must abide the rules or face the bitter consequences.

It is dumb people like you that preach what you don't do. Why are you crying over the policy in Anambra? Why not take the bike to your own state? Which one is a typical Nigerian suffering? Anambra people are not okada riders, take the okada to your own state of Enugu. Have you seen any Anambra person complain about this lofty policy? N. It i usually non Anambra people.
