Sony Mobile To Shut Operations In Africa & The Middle East By October by Gizmomachine: 8:36pm On Jun 28, 2018
A new report from popular leakster Evan Blass suggests that Japanese multinational conglomerate company, Sony Corporation will be shutting down its Mobile operations in Africa and The Middle East. Evan Blass revealed that the tech giant plans to close down all its mobile phone offices in the region by October.

Sony Middle East and Africa has been operating in the region for about 26 years gaining popularity for electronics such as TV and digital camera. The company has failed in its attempted to penetrate the smartphone market in the region. Its lack of success is largely due to the dominance of the likes of Tecno and Infinix Mobile in the region.

While the region may not be known for purchasing high-end devices, the few who do, go for Samsung or Apple. The truth be told, has not been successful in Africa, when it comes to mobile phone.

They were doing poorly in the African market even at 2018, why did you think this would have been their year.

Sony introduced water resistant phones, we loved them.
Other OEMs caught up with their tech and since then no new innovation from them, they will just be copying up and down.
Even at that, can't remember the last time I saw a Sony advert around here.

Sony closing phone business here won't even bother us chaa chaa.
