The Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC), Fidet Okhria yesterday said the track engineers from U.S industrial firm General Electric (GE) would arrive Nigeria next week. Its nice to see NRC moving in right direction. They're as introducing e-ticketing for standard gauge line in September. The concessioning should have been done long before now considering how badly NRC has been run. The next things on list are aiports. Nigerian transport sector will be more efficient managed in private hands. NRC is ready to allow the oil marketers provide their tank wagons even though the Corporation has also procured 40 tank wagons for the purpose. Its great they're allowing private sector to cover short fall. Im assuming they have specific regulations on what tank wagons they'll accept.
