Not less than 22 tickets were allegedly booked during the weekend at the Abuja international airport, by the managing director of the NDDC, Obong Nsima Ekere for the defunt members of the G22, a group of gubernational aspirants in Akwa Ibom state under the Peoples Democratic Party in 2015.

This paper gathered from a reliable source that the MD of the NDDC, Obong Nsima Ekere’s purpose of booking the tickets for the said members of the G22 was in line with his earlier invitation to the members of the forum to meet with him at Texas, USA, regarding his gubernational aspiration in 2019 and to dissuade them from supporting the idea of re-electing governor Udom Emmanuel in 2019.
It was also learnt that before booking the ticket for the G22 members, Ekere had informed and gotten their nod, only for the former Deputy Governor and NDDC MD to receive a telephone call from one of the members of the G22 that the meeting was not going to hold anymore and that he was speaking the minds of all the members of the forum.

The member of the G22 who called added that they have decided to consolidate and support the re-election of the incumbent governor Deacon Udom Emmanuel for the sake of justice, equity and fair play as the 8 years tenure in Akwa Ibom State in the Hilltop mansion was for the 3 senatorial districts.

They also assured of their support Governor Udom Emmanuel‘s continuation in all odds.

The Managing Director of the NDDC was urged to remain focus at the NDDC job instead of wasting his resources to contest a gubernatorial election against the sitting governor.
