Without looking at the pictures at first, you would think the damage being described is a structural one, that which eats deep into the root of the structure, alas upon reading further, I saw pictures of the blown up roof of the bridge. The roof could have been blown off by a heavy windstorm, they could have been vandalized.

Read again!! A contract can be inflated a thousand times. Once it passes through bidding process and bidder is awarded the contract, inflated or not ir irrelevant. Is that hard to comprehend?

I think the exact figure that was published by the polytechnic board was 648 million naira. We've just become so used to over bloated budgets that we think every project like this should cost billions. I was shocked when I saw the figure myself. You can check around and verify .
