1. Manual transmissions save more fuel than automatic transmissions

Most likely not. Automatic gearboxes are now equipped with state-of-the-art technology that helps to reduce fuel consumption by at least as much as manual transmissions, sometimes even more.

2. Restarting the engine consumes more fuel than leaving it running idle


Would you rather leave the engine running during red lights?

Replacing the dirty air filter might not improve the fuel efficiency, but that will still increase your engine’s performance.

6. Higher quality fuel leads to higher fuel efficiency

This idea might have been invented by the oil companies. Experts recommend that you use high-quality gasoline only when designated by the car manufacturers and in some special circumstances.

7. Additives and auxiliary equipment help to save fuel

Most manual drives comes with 5 Speed and MAY("may" because engine capacity affects fuel too) save fuel than most 4speed automatic drives except for CVVT, Hybrid, 7speed tronic (In some Mercedes Benz), VVT and other fuel saving modern technologies.

Point 3. Cars with turbo chargers needs few minutes to idle so as to charge. If you "start and go", the car would lag.

No 3 still stands, steaming your car before your drive out is very good, is like humans doing morning exercise to make them healthier , same applies to car. not steaming it gradually kill the piston n rings and some other vital elements.

For the air flow some injectors still come with air flow and once the airflow is bad, the vehicle won't move smoothly therefore leading to high fuel consumption.

sorry bro.....cars are not human, does your blood change temperature while you sleep? no...the idea of daily steaming your car is to get the engine oil to heat up to optimal temperature, so.instead of burning fuel steaming your parked car, the smarter thing to do is = drive out ur car at slow speed(below 20_30 km/h) for 2-3 minutes before you speed up to your location. engine oil are now more efficient than previous generations engine oil

Some times its nt only about warming the car for warming sake, its to verify if there is any issue, noise etc from engine or parts, Atleast 2 mins mean while u get ur mind together for the movement

As for me o, I prefer to warm it for like 6 to 7mins before zooming off especially in this raining season where there are many large pool of water to swim.
I better burn the fuel than feel sorry in water.
