From Onuminya Innocent, Sokoto

The governor of Sokoto state RT Hon Aminu Waziri Tambuwal yesterday received 6 northern governors who pay him a condolence visit.

The six governors are Abubakar Bello Niger state,Aminu Masari katsina state, Abdulraziz Yari Zamfara state, Abubakar Badura Jigawa state, Jubrila Bindow of Adamawa state and Kassim Shetima of Borno state.

Our correspondent gathered that the 6 APC governors were in Sokoto begging Tambuwal not to defect to People Democratic Party (PDP).

After meeting with their host in government house in Sokoto , Tambuwal ushered them in for a close door meeting which lasted about two hours .

Speaking after the meeting aide to one of the governor who speak to journalists on condition of anonymity said the visit is a condolence visit in view of what happened few days ago at Gandi village in Rabah local government , where bandits killed about 39 people.

But when asked further he disclosed that it is also about defection rumored of governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal but explained that such will not be discussed openly.

It has been recalled that Tambuwal, Samuel ortom and Ahmed Fatai of Kwara state were among APC governors who are planning to defect to People Democratic party.

Tambuwal will be the greatest looser if he mistake decamp to PDP.
